Where to find club exclusive models

Not been a member for years , but when I was there was always a section in the collector magazine for special limited runs for the collector . Is this a thing of the past ? How do I find exclusive models for club members now ?

First of all you need to be a member.

Every member gets a Free Loco each year.

When I joined in 2020 there was a Class H Wainright in SECR green which looked very nice. I put it on my Christmas wishlist but unfortunately it sold out very quickly. Since then, apart from the annual 'free' 0-4-0 there have not been any member exclusive offerings.

The 2021 Exclusive Club model is R3837 Standard 2MT - 78022 Era 11 as preserved on the K&WVR and priced at £149.99. I ordered this loco as soon as it was announced and received a confirmatory email from Hornby - I ordered the loco online from this Hornby site.

However not long after, it disappeared from the list of loco's available and has to my knowledge not reappeared. Several people have posted about this.

Another interesting point, is that as I stated, the model was listed as a "Club Exclusive" and priced at £149.99 - all other Standard 2MT loco's that are now available to pre-order are all priced in excess of £215.00. In the past Hornby have always honoured the price at time of order - we shall see!!
