Tweezers
What are the chances of Airfix releasing a 1/72 F1a Lightning? I don't mean a Classic rerelease of the ancient F1a, rather a new tool. I had a look at the current F2a it does not seem to lend itself to being reboxed as an F1a because wing shape, under belly fuel tank and vertical tail fin are all different. Ratch
Didn't the F2A become the F6 and the F1A evolved into the F3? I'd say it would need a new tool and this is really a Wish List post.
Kenneth ONeill
Something like that. You need one base tool (small tank and fin) for the F1, F1a, F2 and another (large tank and fin) for the F2A, F3, F6, F51 and F53. You now need another 2 tools for the T4 and T5, and for the T52 and T54. This is all on Wikipedia.
Paul-1237236
airfix has done an f1a in the past. it has a rounded tail fin it was bare metal and the last boxing was 111 sqn . i dont think airfix has ever tooled a twin seat. a T4 or t5 would be awesome to go with the current f6. peebeep
What are the chances of Airfix releasing a 1/72 F1a Lightning? Pretty slim. After the release of the F2a/6 somebody at Airfix was quoted as saying they wouldn't be looking at any other options. If you're looking for a modern kit over the ancient Airfix offerings then Sword do an F1 and F3.
peebeep
a T4 or t5 would be awesome to go with the current f6. Sword do a T4 and T5 in 1/48 and 1/72.
