Shackz
Good morning :)I could do with some advice. I have messed up the varnish on the tail of the 1/72 airfix mustang. I had put humbrol clear (acrylic) on via a brush. It didn't seem to self level very well and became quite patchy. It my mistaken wisdom I thought if I applied a satin coat via a rattle can it would even up the surface.....however...it hasn't!! Plus in my frustration I have over applied it and it is now a bit powdery!!Should I reapply a coat of gloss clear and then reapply the satin? Furthermore, can humbrol clear been thinned with water? it did seem to go a bit claggy quite quickly when brushing it on.Many thanks and happy modelling!Morning all,
Kenneth ONeill
"can Humbrol clear been thinned with water?"Yes, but it needs to be well-stirred to get a smooth consistency. Your photo actually looks like the red is oily, which stops any form of acrylic paint covering it smoothly.
