LesD
I have an ARC AIR set and one of my cars, a F1 Williams stopped activating the lap counter.I eventually discovered it was because the screw which holds the guide onto the chassis was loose. An easy fix , presumably worked loose with use. Andy P.
Thanks LesD,Interesting that the loose guide blade did not trigger a lap count.Usually it is because they are not black (the infra red can't "see" anything that isn't black).I can only think that it was wobbling so much that the sensor didn't know what to make of it... LesD
I was aware of the colour issue, perhaps the guide was bouncing over the counter?the lap counter follows a bend and cars tend to hit the barrier at that point
Andy P.
that could well be... if the blade is at the extreme and very high in the slot it could not be triggering.I know you should always have a bit of a straight (ideally a half at least, 78 mm will do in a pinch) before any lane change to make sure the IR LED is over the sensor. It could also be your sensors have sunk into the track and/or are not perfectly aligned ...
