Hurricane Boy Posted November 3, 2022 Share Posted November 3, 2022 PatrickFunny that you should bring this up….I was in the local hobby shop a few weeks ago and ran into an old (younger) friend who I had not seen in years. He proceeded to tell me (and all those in the shop) how my teaching a bunch of younger kids to fly and build/repair 1/2A control line models 50 years ago had start he and his brother into CL and RC models and now they are into drones. Nice acknowledgement…but a little too public for me.With plastic scale models, I introduced a cousin and a nephew to the hobby. If I recall I started the cousin with a 1/48th scale Aurora Camel and the Lindbergh motorized Bismarck which we built together and sailed at the lake. My nephew spent a lot of time looking at my model collection, talking about techniques and I got him a 1/48th scale Airfix Spitfire for Christmas as soon as he was old enough to build it.
