Ratch
In which order do you apply these, stencils before main markings or after?I've done it both ways and cannot decide which (if any) is better. How do the RAF do it?
SD45elect2000
I put on the main markings first, often the stencils lay on top of the main markings .Randall
paul71
For me i took it as the stencils are informative to the ground and air crew of things, so would be on top of other markings, i struggle to read them anyway so couldn't say what they actually say or if they are upside down at times when i put them on with them been so small.Never given much thought to it till now its just the way i have seen them on aircraft at air shows and on photographs, maybe i should pay more attention to them in the future. Frederick Kullas
Certain stencils must not be covered by other markings. If national markings or letters obliterate the stencil the stencil must be re-instated.Take a Spitfire as an example; the trestle markings under the wings on early Spitfires was over the roundel. W/T markings were stenciled back on over the fin flash et cetera. So, main markings first and stencils on top
