Budget Cars with lights

Hi, simple question. Bought my daughters a set for Christmas which they are really enjoying. Would like to buy some cars with lights but these seem almost as much as the entire set cost. Are there any cheaper cars with lights out there or discount codes to bring the cost into the realm of affordability? Many thanks, Ben

Hey Ben,

You can buy light kits for slot cars. Not sure how confident you would be wiring this up and modifying the cars but this is the cheapest option.

Building reward points up and also look at sales items is a good way of getting some nice cars.

Other brands of cars sub £30 have lights that are affordable and work on Scalextric track. You can also look at going to swap meets / UK slot car festival and picking up some bargain cars with lights.

You can google "adding LED lights to slot cars" and get lots of options.

There are small kits available on auction sites that usually cost 20-30 of your favorite currency.

They all require soldering skills...
