Ghost movement of 4 year old hst.

I have a four year old doc hst. I use a Prodigy Advance Controller. Intermittently the train will move off without the trains assigned number being inputted to the controller. Any suggestions would appreciated.Misty Dog.

Is dc running enabled/disabled? CV29.

Also which decoder is it.

How is power from the Prodigy wired to the track.

If Hornby track, are you using a Hornby digital track connector ie. R8241 or R8242. If you are using the Hornby Analogue connectors R602 or R8206 then those connectors could easily contribute to misinterpretated DCC commands.

Could easily? Will definitely at some stage.

How to check? Flip open the black plastic cover between the rails and remove any capacitors found.

Just to confirm power is via bus wire from the Prodigy, it’s an 8 pin Hornby decoder and cv 29 is enabled. Any further suggestionsRegards Misty Dog

Could you clarify what you mean by CV29 enabled please. CV29 has 8 bits each of which can be enabled/disabled for separate functions.

Fishman, look at 96RAF's reply where he asks whether 'DC Running' is enabled in CV29. This is obviously what MDog is referring to in his later CV29 enabled comment.
