Graham-354031 Posted February 25 Share Posted February 25 Hi I'm trying to connect my hornby dongle to my digitrax ds520 express net port.the dongle won't power up at all and on closer inspection the wiring looks to be different in each system.i thought all expressnet conectors would be wired the same anybody any idea how to get round this is there an adaptor or anything.thanks Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
96RAF Posted February 25 Share Posted February 25 Other folk have reported in other posts about using the dongle with Digitrax controllers. Xpressnet whilst a protocol is not defined as a standard so different manufacturers interpret it different ways. In general the outer of the 4 wires are power and ground and the inner pair are data Tx and Rx. However if using a Lenz device with an LMAB connector three of the wires are crossed.
