Expidia
10:23 AM: I have a call into the tech regarding this issue but he is 3 hours earlier on the west coast as I'm in NY . . . . If I touch any of the 4 cars to the rails they all give a brief power chirp even without the controller on. Issue the Yellow Corvette still briefly chirps, but does not run. So I checked the braid and plate and all looks good. To further try and isolate the issue I swapped the chip from another car and the Yellow Corvette runs fine. So I'm leaning towards a defective chip. I just binded the yellow contoller to the blue button and put the blue car on the track and it works fine, so it looks to me like a bad chip in the yellow car. Andy P.
Yep sound like something is amiss in the chip. It is digital enough to "chirp" (which is correct behavior) but something else must have come loose or is broken. Very rarely binding the car to a different color might help because the different colors are basically different infrared frequencies (not 100% technically correct but good enough) and the fault might only show itself in certain frequencies. Chances are though you will want a new chip...
