Postman On The Rails
So I got one of Bundles a while back from Hornby, it included a bag of Gneiss ballast on the website it looks a beige colour but it seems more red to me. So wondered what other people were using
Peachy
For my mainline, GaugeMaster N gauge, for yard work, chinchilla bathing powder mixed with pigment powder (for oil paint) the bathing powder is finer than Chinchilla sand which is much coarser.

Chris98
I use woodland scenics-medium grey blend for main line, med buff for branch line and maybe using med brown for goods yard area.
bill7437
Yes Medium Grey for me too !!!!
Rallymatt
I got WS medium, Brown and Buff. Blended it in different amounts to vary the colours. In this area a lot of the ballast is quite chunky and varied in colour. I found the WS fine a bit of a pain to use, too light to stay in place. ntpntpntp
Not got that far yet with a TT project, but when I do I'll use the same as I've used for decades for N gauge: Woodland Scenics fine light grey or maybe fine buff. BritInVanCA
Woodland Scenics fine grey. I use medium on my OO layout so it seemed too big for TT to me
Postman On The Rails
Fine grey seems a winner, need to figure out the quantity now I know I have about 162cm of track Edited March 6 by Postman On The Rails
Hobby11
Colour depends on where in the country you are modelling. Use fine N scale for size.

Dave the Busker
Another shout for Woodland Scenics medium grey here too, although I'm going to try varying it with other colours for the areas I've still to do.
