Ratch
The Revenge was a typical Elizabethan Galleon. Launched in 1577, the keel was 92 feet long, with a breadth of 32 feet. She had 34 carriage guns and 12 swivel guns. Her design demonstrated improvements over earlier ships, although the four masted rig arrangement (normal for the time) was not particularly efficient. She saw action against the Spanish Armada and was eventually lost in 1661 following another action against the Spanish at Flores.http://pic100.picturetrail.com/VOL761/13303934/24283863/406177990.jpghttp://pic100.picturetrail.com/VOL761/13303934/24283863/406177998.jpghttp://pic100.picturetrail.com/VOL761/13303934/24283863/406177997.jpghttp://pic100.picturetrail.com/VOL761/13303934/24283863/406177996.jpghttp://pic100.picturetrail.com/VOL761/13303934/24283863/406177995.jpghttp://pic100.picturetrail.com/VOL761/13303934/24283863/406177993.jpghttp://pic100.picturetrail.com/VOL761/13303934/24283863/406177992.jpg And now on a seascapehttp://pic100.picturetrail.com/VOL761/13303934/24283863/406238073.jpghttp://pic100.picturetrail.com/VOL761/13303934/24283863/406238076.jpghttp://pic100.picturetrail.com/VOL761/13303934/24283863/406238082.jpghttp://pic100.picturetrail.com/VOL761/13303934/24283863/406238086.jpghttp://pic100.picturetrail.com/VOL761/13303934/24283863/406238091.jpghttp://pic100.picturetrail.com/VOL761/13303934/24283863/406238095.jpg

William Morrison
I sincerely wish that Airfix would start issuing new sailing ship kits! Their kits are among the best in the world in this genre, and English/British naval history is rich in this field. For example, Airfix could follow Caldercraft and initiate a series called "Nelson's Navy", focusing on ships that were present and played significant roles in his famous battles such as The Nile, Copenhagen, and Trafalgar. Or, focus on key ships throughout the Age of Sail. including Rodney's ships, Hood's St. Vincent's, and Anson's.It really seems a shame that Airfix has ignored this history as the only British manufacturer in plastic modeling. Instead, we ship modelers must be content with rereleases of the same kits. However, I hope that Airfix rereleases the Revenge!Bill Morrison
Frederick Kullas
Nice work there. But the Rvenge was lost in a storm off the Azores after having been captured by the Spanish in 1591
