Will1707820254
This sounds wonderful, would be really nice if Airfix could also issue extra parts to do other marks such as early marks and the nightfighter variants just like Aeroclub did with the old Matchbox Meteor (tails, noses, cockpit covers etc) so increasing sales of the base kit. DavidJC
I am not an RAF person - sorry my friends! - I am diehard post-war Fleet Air Arm, but, I have to say the new Meteor, in 1/48, looks fantastic and I will be buying one that's for sure. I wouldn't have if it had been 1/72.
grzegorz_walinski
Great news! Although my main focus of interest concentrates on early years of WWII and late 30s, the new Meteor is definitely a model I'll be awaiting with almost the same level of impatience, as I am already waiting for 1/48 Defiant. I hope there will be an option for a silver machine. Surely, it should - something of the same kind as 1952 Coronation Meteors in 1/72.
Phil Peterson
I don't normally buy 48th scale kits but the Meteor may be an exception, especially if it includes the option to make a RAAF version from Korea and/or and Israeli version. Now if this one gets done in 72nd also, I would probably buy 3 or more. Bill Clark
Great news on the Meteor F8. I have mine on order. Will the kit have "deep breather" intakes as well as the standard intakes shown? Also will it have both "solid" and clear canopies? Oh, and PR nose for an FR9? PLEASE???
ZacYates87
I'm keen to get one, especially if RAAF decals are included. Great work Airfix!
96RAF
Now this superb model is released how long before someone makes a MK7-1/2 Martin Baker ejection seat test aircraft Asterix variant. MK7 and a half you may ask. Yes it was a composite of Mk7 and Mk8 parts and as far as I know it's still flying. google Martin Baker Asterix for images Or Martin Baker Wiki for the story. Oliver Hyett
I don't normally buy 1/48 kits and I normally focus on the early days of the war but this kit got my eye when it first came out and I will definitely be buying it. 😎
