Turntable Take off levels

Has nayone encountered problems with the slight inclines of the entry/exists on the turntable and train front boggies de-railing ? if so how did you overcome it please ?

I found the same problem on the old layout so I jacked up the track pieces with balsa so they were level. Not the most elegant solution but it worked

Hi ,,,,,I have sunk my Hornby turntable into the baseboard ,and have managed to get the entrance and exit tracks quite level and the result is now the steam trains with or without front pony trucks enter and exit nice and smooth,,,,

I have found that the instructions given with the turn table suggested that you lay a double layer of under layer to the lead in track and the same at the exit. That solved my locos from derailing. If you go back to the old t/Hornby turntable they came with plastic ramps for the tracks to go on. I wish I still had them. I could make some myself, but found the underlay to work OK.

When I had my Hornby Turntable, I made some spacers to fit under the tracks to extend the length of the ramps and this worked well.

My son works for a replacement windows firm and he got me a stack of various angle and thickness plastic wedges and shims. Very handy for this sort of thing as well as introducing super-elevation on corners.

 Thanks al who responded to this - they have all given me some ideas - I have tested by lifting the respective track 9mm and all works fine  - so am putting a sheet of 9mm plywood cut to the reqd shape under all the spurs.
