Ken Innes
I recently bought the Airfix 1/35 "Katy" Ambulance (with the free beer glass). It looks like a great kit and I've read some very good reviews......However, for a bit more money I have acquired one of these beauties. I know it's an Airfix forum so I'll not say too much as I don't want to upset anyone.

Hurricane Boy
Thanks Rod. I need to find a Hobbycraft Canada 1/72 DHC-3 Otter on floats to complete the set….well then you need a Beech D18 / C-45 on floats, a Stinson Reliant…..and the list goes on. I think I should just build these three in Ontario Provincial Air Services livery By the way I did perform a quick sprue count and deformities check on the Vamp & Sabre and they are good to go!Tim
Hurricane Boy
Hi RodHobbycraft Canada (the model kit manufacturer) is no longer in business. They made mostly 1/72 and 1/48 scale aircraft of interest here in Canada. I believe that the molds and kits were made in South Korea. Generally they were accurate in shape and dimensions but had very simple cockpits and interiors. They had a few issues with things like actuator jack fairings being on the wrong side of the wing but there was generally nothing wrong that could not be fixed. Panel lines were recessed but no where near the quality of the current Airfix offerings. But then Airfix is not likely to release 1/72 and 1/48 scale Avro CF-100, Avro CF-105 Arrow, Canadair CL-41 (CT-114) Tutor, DHC-3 Otter and 1/72 DHC-4 Caribou……and many others. My industry sources tell me that the molds still exist.I will pull the Hobbycraft 1/72 sabre 5 and the Airfix Sabre 4 out of the stash and take some comparative pictures to show you what I mean about the panel lines. It will show you just how crisp the current Airfix panel lines are by comparison. Cheers,Tim
Paulus66
I just recieved these two as gifts after carrying out some work on a neighbours garden. The initial quote was a cuppa and bacon butty. This took me by surprise as their son and daughter have just dropped these round to say thank for helping their parents. One happy chappie here. Ken Innes
Nice one Paulus66. It's good to know that kindness and being "a good neighbour" has been rewarded. Enjoy the builds.

Stephen-793871
My latest kit is the BAC Jet Provost T5/Strikemaster (from 1989) I have decals to make it as XW324/U (Privately owned) with RAF Centenary markings (all I need is to find a 1:72nd decal of the emblem for RAF Finningley!)Postscript: I think I've found the decal for RAF Finningley at Hannants. If not, I'll have to see if I can print one off myself... unless anyone knows where I can find one...
Paulus66
Very much so, we all look out for each other around here. It's nice to receive a surprise and not actually have to explain the new kits coming in the house lol!
Paulus66
Cheers Tim. They are a great bunch around here. The normal labour price is a bacon butty and a cuppa. So these were a shock, but very welcome surprise.

treker_ed
No pics at the moment, but just had notification that my 1/24 new tool Spitfire is on the way. On top of that, had call earlier to pay the postage for my flying hours kit! As I had 60 hours saved up, I decided to go the whole hog and ask for a new Anson! That should be with me during next week!
