Station Cat
My membership card says 24th of February. I wonder if they might write to existing members to rejoin or whether we have to keep an eye on the WEBSITE and join up with everybody else? 🤔 😀
walkingthedog
You should keep an eye, it surely is your responsibility. If you don’t rejoin immediately it will not have any adverse effect, they are not going to disconnect you power supply. 😆
NWR-Gordon-4
Surely the final issue you recieve comes with a form reminding you that your membership is coming to an end and you can fill in the form that they sent you to rejoin, then you send back to Hornby Hobbies; Or it should also advertise that you can rejoin via the Hornby website? walkingthedog
Or you should be aware your membership is coming to an end.
Station Cat
I've had the last issue but it didn't come with a reminder. I kind of expected it to because clubs sometimes do. I think it would give a bit of a personal touch, but never mind 😀 It's a good job my membership card resides in the display cabinet, so there's no chance of losing it, otherwise I'd be wondering now when exactly I joined 🤔
NWR-Gordon-4
@walkingthedog I keep track of the clubs I am in, but I'm not in the Hornby Collector Club, not untill I can be sure that I recieve the 2019 Bagnall Shunter in Network Rail livery and then I'll be joining it again. @station Cat When you recieved the last 'The Collector' magazine,on the piece of paper that has your home address on, did you not recieve on the reverse of that a rejoin reminder? If not, then you may have missed an issue. GNR-Gordon-4 (HF)
Station Cat
No, haven't missed an issue. Not a prob exactly but would save time looking at the webpage waiting for the change of loco 😆
NWR-Gordon-4
Yes and when the lcomotive changes, I'm joining. Clearly there's still stock of the 2018 locomotive left, but why can't Hornby add the 2019 locomotive to the website and then any joiners from that point onmwards can choose which locomotive they get. Station Cat
I suppose they are leaving them on until the very last minute of this current years membership. There might be a very certain day of this month when it changes over? But who would join the club last week and then rejoin in a couple of weeks time? 😆 😆
NWR-Gordon-4
Or they want to get rid of the 2018 locomotomtive stock first. If you join now and if you do get the 2018 locomotive, you will have to wait until 2020 to rejoin to get the 2019 locomotive. pd91223
I've not looked at Hornby Collector Club before, so please excuse my naivety. Is R3775 a runnable loco or just a display item? If runnable, is it DCC Ready, 8-pin?
walkingthedog
It is a runner but not DCC Ready as far as I know.

Flightsimer
My R3775 Diesel shunter 'Network Rail' arrived this mornin. it's not DCC ready, wonder can it be converted?
Howbi
@Flightsimer..........yes it can be converted either by soldering the decoder wires directly to the pick-up leads and motor or solder in a DCC socket, either 6 pin or 8 pin depending on your choice of decoder........the basice Hornby X9659 4 pin decoder would also be suitable..........there is loads of space inside and can easily accomodate a TTS sound decoder with speaker........HB/media/tinymce_upload/5ac6b03c2a60f6ded298abf4a3fafab4.JPG
