Trainman1974 Posted June 28, 2019 Share Posted June 28, 2019 Hi all,has anyone managed yet to fit a Hornby R7146 Class 08 TTS chip and if so how easy or hard is it?i currently have a hornby class 08 super detailed model which has a normal hornby decoder fitted But how easy is it to fit a tts chip in cause of the speaker. Howbi Posted June 28, 2019 Share Posted June 28, 2019 I have recently fitted the class 08 TTS decoder.......the installation was as easy as most others.......this model 08 had no socket so I soldered in an 8 pin socket and replaced the attached speaker with a good quality Zimo speaker to improve depth of sound..........photo shows result..........I expect your 08 already has the 8 pin socket so the installation will be more straightforward........the speaker is stuck to the rear of the radiator by a sticky pad..........HB/media/tinymce_upload/03ca0630c757e6cda0c075f72f243daf.JPG Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
