  1. OK the Bachmann 66 comes in 8 pin and 21 pin. I fitted an a TTS into an old 8 pin 66 so no adapter needed, however I had to change the motor algorithm.
  2. Power supply??? I started my DCC adventure with the mixed freight set, and soon had 2 continuos loops plus sidings and everything worked fine. I then bought the TTS Scotsman and all was well, then a sound fitted class 66 and whats happening?? Short answer a 1 amp power supply that comes with the Select, upgraded to the 4 amp and alls well again. Just wondering
  3. Being happy with the running of my layout, I finaly got round to ballasting a few weeks ago. Using a 'fine' chip ballast this is the result which I'm more than happy with and the track is Hornbys set track http://i.imgur.com/2xD1LMal.png
  4. 263 now with a crew of a driver and fireman,(I painted up and reshaped two Hornby black plastic figures) so now ready to hit the track. Ohh and now fitted back on the 'sand pipe' I didn't notice had come off. My bad when fitting the decoder./media/tinymce_upload/1fa137197de817ea55e4c2772f964c84.jpg/media/tinymce_upload/30e9f12b4430bcf261787b71e76982db.jpg/media/tinymce_upload/cde8618b8d63eae8a0c37852577f560f.jpg/media/tinymce_upload/121a7489afff88a2a02f2f9a146f4cdf.png
  5. Bluebell Railway SECR, H Class, 0-4-4T, No263 26 years ago, my 40th birthday present was to spend a week Driving and Firing this loco, so was very pleased to be able to have this beauty on my layout to remember that great week. Well done Hornby, it could not have been an easy livery to do but you have done a great job of it and Ive been able to put a DCC chip in her and she looks and runs flawlessly/media/tinymce_upload/6666c26a171cedee77854f00aea0fa64.jpg/media/tinymce_upload/51011242e4b36f6da9ac6fc1c747a13d.jpg/media/tinymce_upload/3e1e76b64b10ee95ce679cdf8b618c68.jpg/media/tinymce_upload/e0fe48ebf98c57414a46e1b59003018d.jpg/media/tinymce_upload/2d691a500a83af63c6f9176a4786f336.jpg/media/tinymce_upload/a937a20bc02c8d6b1029ba80e13e5aad.jpg/media/tinymce_upload/d96ae3bcde41160d8a8b9fb83f1cb0b2.jpg/media/tinymce_upload/509b5f0770089eb46daddc9216669bba.jpg
  6. This subject has been covered before in post 08 Class TTS.....how easy to fit
  7. To me it seems thats theres not enough power, had this with my DCC starter set where it comes with a 1 amp power supply fixed when upgradedto the 4 amp supply
  8. Hey traincliff, my 08 Laira is a DCC ready loco with no sound, but I fitted a decoder in it for my DCC layout which ment I have taken the body off, so this was a simple upgrade to fit the TTS sound chip, wires are long enough for the speaker to slot into the space behind the radiator grill. Just whatch out when removeing the body theres a pipe front left side that fits into the chassis you have to get that out of the chassis first.
  9. Having the DB 08 with the alreadyTTS sound fitted, today I fitted the new TTS 08 sound decoder to my other 08 the Laira diesel and can report that it's a very simple job. Very happy with it
