Tay00
Hi just wondering what material you use to underlay the track prior to adding ballast. I'm sure previously covered on here but I can't find anything. Chrissaf
I'm sure previously covered on here but I can't find anything..Use the 'Search Forums' box with the green magnifying glass icon.Type in the word "underlay" (without the " " marks) as the search term. The search results should give you 3 pages (up to 30) hits where the word "underlay" appears in the topic title of threads.. 96RAF
I agree with WTD having tried all sorts - bare wood.
Puffed Out
The only thing going under my tracks, is 'Javis' Ballast underlay. Granite extra fine.
Bulleidboy
As has been said a "million" times, it's down to personal choice. Rob and Brian have said bare wood, I used self-adhesive cork - they are happy with what they have, I'm happy with what I have. I think the one thing we would all agree on is not to use the grey foam that Hornby supply - it does deteriorate over a period of time.
Howbi
If you do decide to use cork then you must also sit any platforms on cork to maintain the correct height above the railhead....HB
