Hurricane Boy
Does that count as natural weathering? I think that referring to it as combat damage may be more appropriate 😂
Sailorman
You have uploaded loads of excellent photos in this thread but in time it will disappear below all the new threads. Have you considered creating your on album on the site? Go to Gallery and create an album for yourself then all you pics will be there in one place easy to access.

SD45elect2000
I saw a video that they actually found this P-38 in Papua very recently. Major Richard Bong's plane (Marge)- at least parts of it may be returned to his hometown. Randall Edited May 25 by SD45elect2000

HI Ratch, It wasn't a prototype; The story of this aircraft is that it officially didn't exist. This plane was built from leftovers from written off aircraft. It was from the 3rd bomb group in Port Moresby New Guinea. The plane was polished to high shine and used to ferry food and alcohol from Australia until it ran out of fuel and crashed where it remains today. Thanks for looking ! paul71
nice build randall the silver finish looks great. the information of the aircraft reminds me of a book i read called the silver spitfire about how squadrons would keep older aircraft for there own personal use and the lengths the went to to keep them.

Grumps123
Very impressive build Randall👍. Is the Special Hobby version a new boxing of the MPM tooling or a newer tool?
