I had build this kit, because it's a special option of this fighter, sadly, nobody knows Lim-5, but all know MiG-17 Fresco.

About the original:

The Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-17 (Russian: Микоян и Гуревич МиГ-17; NATO reporting name: Fresco) is a high-subsonic fighter aircraft produced in the Soviet Union from 1952 and was operated by air forces internationally. The MiG-17 was license-built in China as the Shenyang J-5 and Poland.

In 1955, Poland received a license for MiG-17 production. The MiG-17F was produced by the WSK-Mielec factory under the designation Lim-5 (an abbreviation of licencyjny myśliwiec – licence-built fighter).

From 1973 to 1975, 47 MiG-17Fs received an additional suspension per wing between the fuselage and the additional tank at the Dresden aircraft hangar on the basis of the LIM-6bis and were used as fighter-bombers, equipped with two "Mars" containers for 16 unguided 57 mm S-5 rockets or two 250 kg bombs each. These MiG-17s were the only ones to fly with a brown-green camouflage paint and blue underside, all others had been left in natural aluminum. The aircraft were used in the JBG-31 in Drewitz, which was founded in 1971.

Another LIM-5, nice kit with about 1/3 of build time applying very small decals. Well detailed rear section with airbrakes open. 2 canopies with or without mirror option. Also rockets included for Egyption versions (decals for this option not included). No filler required but substantial weight needed in nose. Kit comes with a drum for tail end to 'sit' on if you can't pack enough weight in.
