Pendragon Sailing
Has anyone else encountered the problem of the schools class front bogie’s mounting pin snapping off. If so, what solution for fixing it have folk used? I note that spares are no longer available (at least as far as I can see). Any suggestions welcome Edited June 27 by Pendragon Sailing
LTSR_NSE
Not a solution - but possibly some helpful info? https://www.rmweb.co.uk/forums/topic/141336-schools-class-super-detail-bogie-problem/
LTSR_NSE
Searching this forum also produces results of the same fault - the only solution posted, user contacted Hornby Customer Services & they repaired the loco.
ColinB
I bought one with it snapped so I fixed it. Here is what I did. I drilled a 2mm clearance hole in the bottom of the bogie in the centre in which I screwed a 12mm m2 screw. I then screwed a nyloc m2 nut onto this so that it tightened against the back of the bogie where the bolt is fed through. Then all I did was use another nyloc on the top of the bolt where it feeds through the bogie support plate
