NWR-Gordon-4
Now you know and most of it very difficult to get. If you look at what Hornby currently produces, it nothing compared to what Hornby used to produce: https://www.hornby.com/uk-en/shop/brands/thomas-friends.html/. Jimbo1707820979
Two "Warship" class 43 locos. Both proved excellent runners despite their advanced years./media/tinymce_upload/01b3e13d7910af038e446da07d466de1.JPG/media/tinymce_upload/821cda23ef91e353e7aaeffc66f05e46.JPG

LMSFan72
R3509TTS, City of Brirmingham 46235, arrived yesterday after being on pre-order for a year. Looks great, sounds great and runs great! m_duck
R3509TTS, City of Brirmingham 46235. Although i don't have any track setup at the moment so haven't been able to run it. I might put something together tonight as I really want to see it in running.
NWR-Gordon-4
That's really wierd that is. LMSFan72's and m_duck's new purchase is the same locomotive and their posts are right next to each other! 😆 GNR-Gordon-
Jeff Mennell
I've wanted one of these for a while and I think £13 for a good condition version isn't too bad:- /media/tinymce_upload/b34c783555c26b0274acc879cfa3eecb.jpg
Jeff Mennell
Bought new 8 x R609 (double 3rd rad) from an ebay shop for a total of £5.99, free postage! Seems too good to be true...

The son of Triangman
Latest purchase, two beautiful rare Tri-ang-Hornby "Thompson" corridor breakdown train coaches, just need a good clean, circa 1971. /media/tinymce_upload/257d9b5bedb19b38ec02cd8ddff7b6a7.jpg
The son of Triangman
I also acquired this beauty. It cost me £12 unboxed trade, fortunately I have a correct 1970 box. It's missing a few parts but nothing that can't be sorted. /media/tinymce_upload/afc823bfed2af19594d355093bc6cfc3.jpg
Jimbo1707820979
A used Polaroid Cube has just reached me, for taking cab-view videos of the layout. I didn't buy the Plus version as I didn't need the wi-fi feature and the spec. of the standard version is close to the Plus, I have read. (We'll see ! 🤔 ). Also the price I paid -- £15 post free- was much more to my liking. The first video clip seems good, in moderately poor light. So I am now wrestling with the problem of which free software to convert .mov ( Quicktime) to .wmv or mp4 if I am to put anything on YouTube. Would be grateful for any suggestions using Windows, please.
Rana Temporia
I bet not many people have one of these. I got it at a bargain price as well, probably the rarest 040 made by Hornby. /media/tinymce_upload/0796ab2f91ff4e7fc1ad3c5250bd2264.jpg
NWR-Gordon-4
Rana Temporia, I didn't know that existed. Only trouble with your example however, is that's missing the coupiling hooks and the decals are wearing away. I guess that must be to do with age. Is it an made in Britain model? It looks like it. 81F
Just taken delivery of what will probably be my last big loco (unless I start to seriously expand into British Railways era) - a "Night Owl" (GWR 47XX 2-8-0) from Heljan. Exactly what I need to head up my train of re-bogied Lima Siphon G

GNR-Gordon-4GNR Gordon, apparently there were only 34 made according to the latest Ramsays guide. The full wording should say Hornby USM Debut December 1986 and they were given away at a share launch debut In 1986 So will be a made in Britain model. In Good condition it would be valued at around £400 but I got it at the normal price for one of these 040 locos. I have never seen one before and that is what made be buy it as I’m familiar with most of these locos. I have no idea how or where the seller got it from? The condition isn’t as bad as it looks in the photo, it looked OK on my iPad before I posted it, perhaps some compression of the photo has taken place. The hooks are missing if there ever were any and there is a small chip out of the front of the cab. The transfers are worn but intact. I’m not sure what to do with it, whether to keep it or sell it on. Most of my rarer items whigh are mainly for display but kept in running order are much older than this.IF it is the correct valuation AND I can get someone to pay somewhere near it I could have a maroon WAB tank and an electric blue EM2 for that which would be more in keeping with the rest of my stock. For the moment it’s on display. If I could find one of these a month I’d be happy!
NWR-Gordon-4
Only 34 models? That's rare, but a very odd number as well. It's not even 100. If it was given away, then it must have been a promotional locomotive. If only Hornby would give away free locomotives and rolling stcok, today! 😉 😆 😀 GNR-Gordon-

Troublesome Truck
My most recent edition is Class 60 "Roseberry Topping" in the Load Haul livery.I'm very pleased with it and I'm currently putting it through its paces. I'd like to get the opportunity to take it apart and give it a service but I don't want to damage it when separating the body from the chassis.ive got my eye on some EWS stuff, but at the moment money is tight and I won't be able to get anything this month.
