  2. i now collect re issued airfix cars to build at a later date
  3. As a kid i built anything airfix ,ships planes helecopters tanks and cars ,i just loved building them but as i got older i lent more towards cars
  4. maybe the Marina and the Victor can be resurrected then plus a few others too like the MG 1100 ETC
  5. I'll take one too please ,served my apprenticeship on BL so fondly remember working in the Maxi
  6. well its been a while since i last visited the forum and i just cant get used to it (no likey likey )
  7. wow your mrs must love you .........or either that she wants you out from under her feet lol
  8. i'm all for resurecting older model using 3d scanning
  9. oven cleaner works a treat place the parts that want de-chroming into a zip bag add oven cleaner and leave over night ,wash off in the morning with hot water and an old tooth brush ,works a treat
  10. the problem with 1/43rd scale is the price difference between kits and diecast (ie Oxford diecast) ,i can see the attraction of the kits in that scale as in you could have various colour schemes of your own , as apposed to the colour supplied as a diecast ,as for 1/24,25th scale this was mainly used by the american kit manufactures as it gave more detail, airfix did make larger scale models in the past but like other manufactures had agreements with others manufactures to model kits as airfix ,the "monkee mobile" springs to mind made by amt
  11. i can remember airfix had a good selection of 1/32nd cars of which i built most of them back in the 60's early 70's
  12. PS just re-read your post, if you had keyed the plastic and applied primer then a light rub with fine wet and dry after every coat ( when the paint has fully cured between coats) then it should have been ok ,patience is a must here when painting
  13. did you "key" the paint between coats with fine wet and dry ,i find used wet and dry ( used wet with a small drop of washing up liquid ) really good for applying a key to a painted surface, then aloud to dry and wipe with a soft dust free cloth or a "tack cloth " to remove and dust particals
  14. Here's a thought ,we all love "the super cars " and the "exotict " cars but why not make the every day car that we all grew up with and saw every day ,the choice is endless ,yeah i know there will be some people out there who wont agree but just think of the modifications you could carry out on them ,different wheels ,exhaust ,heck you could relive your boy racer days
  15. i'd love a marina too it was a great kit in the day
  16. I think Airfix should start making kits in 1/24th/25th scale ,im sure if they remade older kits made in 1/32nd scale but to 1/24/25th scale they could be on to a winner, just think the jag 420 ,beach buggy ,victor estate etc all in a larger scale
  17. i usually get " REALLY " or " a waste of money",still doesn't stop me buying
  18. IT'S HERE IT'S HERE im just like a big kid who has got all his birthdays and christmas in one ,yep you guessed the Bond Bug has arrived
  19. just raided the piggy bank and ordered the Bond Bug ,now waitinf for delivery
  20. well if they remake the "maxi" "marina" and the "victor estate" i'll be buying them again ,and any other car of that period
  21. worst delivery company going ,my experience was to find my parcels in the recycling bin and like above nothing to say they had been delivered ,if it hadnt been for me putting more recycling in the bin before it was emptied i would have lost my delivery
  22. not bought anything for some time ,waiting for the bond bug to be releised ,till then im saving my pennies
  23. what kits would i like to see airfix make, well as a young boy in the 60/70s i purchased and built a lot of airfix kits from aircraft to automobiles and loved building everyone of them ,so any remake of vintage kits would be great but i do have a soft spot for 1/32nd cars ,so maybe the morris marina but rather the saloon how about the coupe',yep i know the moulds have disapearedfor the saloon but the coupe' would make for an interesting change ,or any other car from the 60/70s would be nice too
  24. hobbycraft hhmm what can i say more like the not so hobbycraft !!!!!!
  25. looking forward to building the Jag and the buggy ,with the more choice in modern paints etc they should look even better
