  1. It is not recommended to run an analogue loco on DCC. It can burn the motor out, especially when the loco is left stationary.
  2. I have some locos with 44 year old can motors. One refused to work, but I changed the brushes and off it went again.
  3. Please stop posting these massive web addresses. They stretch the board and break it. Why couldn't you have posted the shorter version? http://www.deborahirwin.plus.com/Preserved%20locos/end_of_the_line_except_for_the_l.htm
  4. Why didn't the locomotive want to sit down? Because it had a tender behind. Boom boom!
  5. Might just need a tiny drop of oil on the motion.
  6. The older R965 was more powerful than the new R8250 train set controller Jacob. At least one person has had problems with Tri-ang locos tripping the HM2000 and has converted R965s to be more powerful. He is, of course, experienced in electrical work and such conversions should not be attempted by the average person, such as me. :-)
  7. The lights are overloading the controller. You will need the HM2000 at least to avoid this. Even if you go DCC I would say you'd need the 4 amp power supply that comes with the Elite or have to buy as an upgrade for the Select.
  8. Traction tyres are the work of the Devil! They mean there are less wheels to pick up electrickery. What's needed is metal bodied locos with strong motors and lots of weight.
  9. I have an N scale loco that has the motor in the tender, but it powers the wheels in the loco via a cardan shaft.
  10. LEDs hate reverse voltage.
  11. Ne Zero-1 modules. Haven't heard of them. Can't find them on asearch. Where did you see them Phil?
  12. You could try selling it at a toy fair, Ebay or a boot sale. Your local museum might even be interested.
  13. No, it's a completely different system.
  14. They haven't been made for around 30 years. You might get them on Ebay or maybe at toy fairs. Their proper name is loco modules. They cannot be used with modern DCC systems with the one exception of the ZTC controller. Why do you want to use them?
