Thanks Andy, found it and will give it a try. Sadly, have sold the red Stag, but now have a black one, I'm slipping in to dotage, so she's an auto. Has the 5 speed gearbox though and a new engine (Triumph). Still have the TR7 V8. Wouldn't it be lovely if Scalextric would do that as a model? Or the Le mans Spits? Or the Dolly Sprints? Nice to see an Anglia appearing this year, maybe, there's hope! Cheers Chas

Just about to retire my old C7042 and replace with Arc Pro. Seen a lot of (old) discussions about device compatability and, as I will need to buy a tablet, any suggestions? Or is this no longer an issue? Is there a Windows compatible version so I can avoid buying a tablet. Thanks in advance! Chas

Hi Andy, Slightly off topic, but I sent the link to the Spit IV to a chap I know who can print files and unfortunately, he can find 'no stl or object files' to enable him to print the car. I haven't a clue as to what that means! Cheers Chas

Hi Andy, Definitely a MkIV/1500. Have had 5 Spitfires in my lifetime and loved every one of them. Can't get out of them too easily any more! Just stick with my Stag and (funnily enough) my TR7V8 now. I do have the old Scalextric model of the TR - upgraded with new motor/chassis and tyres. They do go rather well! I also have the Le Mans Spit resin kit and am now assembling it. Bit tight for chipping space, but I'll get there.

Can't seem to find a topic on this! Well, what is everbodies thoughts on the new cars? For me, I like the new liveries for the Rover SD1 and the Ford Capri. At last, a non-kit Jaguar Mk 1 too. Especially like the 1978/79 F1 cars - it's going to cost me a small fortune this year! Must admit, I have also pre-ordered FAB 1 too. Wish I could find a reason to order the Landrover - looks fabulous! But - one HUGE complaint. Where, oh where, Scalextric, is the TRIUMPH TR7 ??? I don't care if it's in Sprint or V8 guise!

I see what you mean. Many of the descriptions do say 'DPR - No' then go on to say that either the C7005 (wired) or C8515 (plug) are required. So, a bit confusing! However, fitting the C7005 inside a Scalextric car is (relatively) easy - even the Lotus 25 and front-motored Vanwalls and Maseratis.

At last! The Rover SD1/ Vitesse returns to the track for 2022, can't wait to get hold of this one having re-chassied two of the older models. Looks good in the Vitesse moulding, lest hope for more liveries. Good to see the old Mini Clubman back as well. Keep up the good work Scalextric and don't forget the TR7 in its' many guises!

An older post, but still worth a reply. Chip them! I have done all my Scalextric F1 legend cars and they look fantastic in race mode - though I generally only race 4 at a time rather than a full six. Scalextric seem to have a reputation for building 'toys' that are only fit for use as shelf queens and this simply isn't true. I have a fair stable of 60s F1 racers from various manufacturers and many home builds from kits and the Scalextric cars more that hold their own. If going to DCC though, I would strongly suggest a change of motor to somewhere akin to 16000 rpm from the original motor. The cars will be much smoother to drive. The only mod I have had to do in the cockpit is to remove a part of the drivers legs to allow the chip to fit -and this can't be seen! Cheers Chas

Hi Kev, I am sure others will correct me, but the guide does have to be black. I have painted these in the past, but the wear and tear on the guide soon makes it rub off - usually half way through the race when you are blocked by a slow pace car! As to distance for the sensor, the furthest back I have a sensor from the slot gide is just over 1 1/8" and it works perfectly. Scalextric Aston Martin DB5, Cooper T53 and Mclaren M23, to name a few. However, I run the old Scalextric C7042 6 car powerbase and RCS64 RMS - I do NOT use any of the Arc sets and have no idea whether this makes any difference. From this forum, most advice seems to be to get the sensor as close as possible! Cheers Chas

Hi, I have done the Ferrari 250 LM, Ferrari 250 GTO, Alfa Romeo TZ without any problems. The oldest being the Alfa, which must be coming on for 8 years. As Gorp has said, the Alfa (front motor) has been tricky - space inside being another issue and the GTO was a nightmare - not finding space for the chip, but making sure that the wiring didn't foul on anything. Hi Chas, spotted your post, while looking for a Club in the Bristol area, would you believe it, I live on the coast road between Clevedon and Portishead. I'm a bit "rusty" not had a set for a while, but it would be fun to race on a permanant layout. I would need to "borrow" a car from you to race, but if I don't make a complete idiot of myself I would happily buy myself a "team". Looking forward to hearing from you. Regards, Paul.

Try sanding the tyres - piece of wet or dry - I use a 600 grit held under the tyre while you press the throttle on the controller. No need to do it for too long - and see what happens. The other thing to try is to clean the track with a bit of washing up liquid. (make sure it's all dry before switching the power back on!) as the track can get greasy. Good luck!

MRRC do a nice 906 in different liveries, when chipped. it is almost as quick as the Scalextric Ferraris (which are easy to do)

Dear Scalextric., In 2018, I spent most of the year converting/building and old Lotus 25 into something closely resembling a 'proper' model. Made the running gear/suspension, built the engine, detailed the wheels, tracked down an old body, cleaned, glued and sprayed it. Remodelled the driver and what did you do? Release a new version! In 2019, I decided to do the same with the Tyrell P34 to match the McLaren, Ferrari and Lotus for the 1976 season. This was based on a very tired SCX body that I had found on a well-known auction site. What is in this years releases? In 2020. I plan to do the same with the Ford 3 Litre GT and the TR7. May I ask, in advance, if either of these are planned for 2021???

An old post! But yes, have just moved close to Bristol (BS20) and have a pemanent layout - and looking for someone to race against. Chas
