  1. There are a few different wheels I could get BUT not to fit the non standard Hornby axle and then I am not going to even try to swap the gear wheel over. Have you tried? I have used Scalelink a few times and are on my TT 120 J39 and 8F.
  2. It seems to be a GNR thing as a few of their locos, or LNER afterwards, used that spacing. The N2 is identical for spacing but requires larger wheels, the same goes for the B17 and possibly the B1.
  3. This again opens up the "you cannot please all the people all the time". Some only want scale just like some only want GW stream. Others are happy with whatever models are produced just as some are not bothered by 100% accuracy. I have a couple of tanks that should have 5'8" wheels but with only 6'8" available that is what is used.
  4. I only tried this Stanier on R3, the Mk1's did it on R4 but cannot remember if they did on my main layout with larger curves.
  5. Totally agree, as you know I have many, many other TT 120 locos using the A1 chassis but only two required the A1 sized wheels, and then, my Lord Nelson should really have the rear set further away. For me, it is the general look and appearance of a model, not the exact half mm.
  6. My pacifics, the few I tried, all go around Tri-ang TT small radius curves which are about 2 or 3mm tighter than R1.
  7. If they are lit Pullmans and struggling on the straight then that is a totally different issue to this. This is about coaches running well on the straight but problematic on the curves. Both early Mk1's and Pullmans had different issues and Hornby sorted the Mk1 by altering the moulds but no idea if the Pullmans were done. I am looking forward to what Hornby say on Monday after looking at the videos and photos.
  8. Because if we returned them then all the others and 57's would have to have new underframes made how long do you think that would take? We probably would not see them for 12 months or more. At least it is easy to do (for most people anyway) and last time I reported it to Hornby, as did others, they altered the moulds.
  9. A little grinding/cutting has sorted the issues out and they both run fine now. Another little issue to inform Hornby about. There were 4 areas I modified and cannot say if all or a combination of them were needed but did not have enough coaches to keep doing just one of them. Might look rough but I don't waste time and it works.
  10. A slight hiccup with these as they have the old wheel fouling issue on curves. Mine do anyway so interesting to see if others have this problem and this is on R3 curves.
  11. No Peter, they will all have the same number. At normal viewing distance I cannot read the numbers to start with let alone know if they are the same or not.
  12. These two little beauties have just been delivered.
  13. The chassis was designed for Tillig wheel sets as that was what I used when I discussed with them making 120 models at the time of their first kit when I enquired about doing 120 in the first place.
  14. Here is the latest wagon from Three Peak Models. Due to its era it might not suit everyone but for the "anything goes" brigade like me it is another different addition.
  15. Staying as is lol. Even cutting a section out to make a 40' bogie parcels would not look right to me. I do have a similar 50' already but the original beaded LMS version.
  16. That is already out, mine is arriving this afternoon.
  17. Surely they mean subscribe to Hornby magazine which the TT membership is not affiliated to?
  18. I cannot find the post but someone mentioned about comparing the signals to Pecos and were they kits. I very much doubt Hornby's will be a kit (they only did kits of locos and coaches in Triang days which were only an assemble yourself the standard parts), but, Pecos are. I saw them at the York show on Monday.
  19. One of those brakes was advertised "in stock" a few days before Easter.
  20. 3d prints of them were seen in Glasgow 2023. There are mentioned in the original catalogue.
  21. That only puts us into April 1st, or is that the joke?
  22. The very first A3 I can remember seeing was Colombo when I was 6 years old when my father took me to York station to see an accident that had happened. August 58 and the driver of the Sunderland to York train thought he was on a through platform line (probably 9 or 14) but in fact was in the "Harrogate" bays and the loco mounted the platform. Thanks to Silver Tay models I have been able to recreate this in York South. Thankfully mine took quicker to repair than the real one did.
  23. Easter hiccup. What did the metadata say about the parcels one this is supposedly in stock?
  24. With filter set to show only in stock items even the Mk3's are all there now, blue and grey as well as GW but still say pre order when opening up so fairly imminent I guess.
