  1. Not just steam locos but more importantly the 08 as that needs even more clearance.
  2. On the last incarnation when I clicked on Forums it automatically went to TT 120, now it always goes to many and I have to scroll down. Not too much of an issue having to do an extra click (not one less as stated elsewhere) but would be better not having to do it as previously.
  3. You can make your own, I have an EM1 which is a 3D body from Shapeways with Halling bogies fitted.
  4. Yes, it is a problem these days and I am just the same and guilty at times. Due to issues on various sites things do get misunderstood.
  5. Just looked at the spares list Piko sent me and the only items not available are the chassis block, wheels and valve gear. Boiler, handrails, screws, cab etc are, everything but what I wanted. Hopefully the loco will be here in the next few days and it will give me an idea what I can do.
  6. Yes there is a spares list but will have to look later. Even here some manufactures will say something is not possible but I/we do it so I am not ruling anything out yet, just hoped they had spares in. The only issue I can think of is the tyred set has different length crankpins which would be an issue. If it were balance weights I would not be bothered about things like that.
  7. Matt, I received this today from Piko. I will have to see how the loco goes and think of ways to do away with the tyres. I may be able to fit some metal rings in place but until the loco comes I wont know. "It is not supposed to change the wheels to ones without traction tyre. So there is no fitting wheel set for this loco without the traction tyre."
  8. I know what was meant, it was a joke in response to the post of how it was worded.
  9. Steam is only boiling water which has no energy or heat to light a fire otherwise our shelf above the kettle would have burned down a long time ago.
  10. Most likely if it was effective it is banned like most substances that worked.
  11. That worked David, thanks. Hope the 37 comes out in that green livery.
  12. It is still doing it for me, about a dozen times and someone else on FB too as well as here.
  13. Every time I click on "read more" it jumps to Aprils edition even though I am logged on.
  14. Thanks Matt, I will see what turns up and then look for spares.
  15. Thats interesting, I did not know European makers offer non tyred replacements. I will have to look into that for steam locos as I don't have tyred locos.
  16. Screw A, the black tape has no reason to be there, even the second hand one yesterday had it but lower down as the screw was undone so obviously it is not there to keep it in. SK did say he had no idea why it is there as it serves no purpose.
  17. Strangely I got this for the very first time last night. It was a second hand ebay purchase "supposedly new" and when I ran it I had the same on corners and points. The cause was the chassis to body holding screw was half way out catching the bogie. I simply screwed it in and it is like all the rest of my locos, no problem now.
  18. The bogie arm that is fastened to the chassis needs to be tight and dead straight. If it is loose or angled slightly then the sliding pivot can allow the wheels to catch the drivers or cylinders. That is why Hornby had the chassis block and bogie holding arm altered with a pin cast in the chassis and a hole in the holding arm to keep it straight.
  19. A video is far better than words, which for something like this is not easy to understand and do.
  20. Only 3, I thought it was more. It is surprising there is anyone left, or, who wants to live there.
  21. According to the club magazine the Blood and Custard Staniers should be available after May 3rd. The others a little later from May 17th.
  22. I saw DP2 many times in operation, and when sheeted over in York sheds after the accident but it does not appeal to me. The problem I can see will probably be the 3D printed material thickness fitting over a chassis. If it wont fit I can always sell it on.
  23. Oh dear, could be an expensive month, especially the end of it.
  24. No full yellow ends, no corporate blue or there after liveries so anything pre 1968 is allowed. I do have 2 HST sets but there is a specific reason for those and it is not the norm.
  25. As far as I know they were introduced in 67, (and only in blue), so in the steam era but unlikely seen alongside a steam loco. The green one was done many years later so mixing the two together under rule 1 gives me a "BR green" diesel to run on my layout. I dont like full yellow ends which is why I will try to paint them out around the windows.
