  1. Hi, is it possible to convert a class 142 - R867 to DCC? Certainly to include head and tail lights, and maybe interior lights. Thanks in advance
  2. Hi, I have an R1126 Mixed Freight set with a Jinty and a class 08. I have opened the 08 and it has a four pin decoder with orange, gray, red and black wires. Can I put an eight pin decoder in instead of the four pin? I'm pretty good at soldering so I don't mind cutting plugs off, etc. I would like to attempt to fit lights/lanterns to the 08. Thanks in advance
  3. Hi, not sure I'd like the idea of magnets close to the Hornby Select. I have got a piece of 3mm aluminium which I have bent to around 270° and screwed to the vertical control panel. I have also ordered a couple of strips of heavy duty velcro and some impact glue - Belt and Braces! Thanks for the help guys.
  4. Hi, my layout is up in the loft, at around chest height. I have built a control panel with all my switches, etc screwed onto the control panel. The panel is vertical, which suits my space nicely. However, the Hornby select won't stay attached vertically to the board. I have tried a glue gun, but this only lasts for a week or so. Is there a bracket or mount for the select to sit vertically?
  5. Hi, thanks for the reply. I did a factory reset and it works fine now
  6. Hi, I have a Hornby mixed freight set (I believe it's a R1236) with two locomotives and the select controller. I have added lots of track, points, locos, etc, and it is on a layout up in the loft. Recently, with the instruction book in my hand, I tried to 'consist' the two locos using #10 to control them, this worked fine. Then I tried to 'consist' a Flying Scotsman railroad and a Mallard railroad on #11 on the select unit. Nothing happened! Now all my locos have 'lost' their codes and the select controller's led flashes when I put any load on it. However, the sound units on Mallard and FS seem to still be working. Is there anything I can do at home to fix the flashing led screen? Thanks in advance
