  1. Finally, someone agrees with me that we need a CAC Boomerang.
  2. Don't forget Rogue One and Solo, based between the first two trilogies. Anyway, I think there are a dozen of these kits, all from the original trilogy, these included two hoth sets, an x wing, a wing, snowspeeder, jabbas throne room, yodas hut, a star destroyer, a speeder bike and endor set, slave I and the millenium falcon
  3. The problem is even worse here in Australia, where postage rates are way too high to buy things online, sometimes more than the model itself. Although I live in a regional area, there are two brilliant hobby shops. They are definitely not close to going out of business, however there is practically no stock. Not just Airfix, but nearly all brands. What were normally long lines of shelves with nearly every kit imaginable stacked on them are sparsely populated by its injection-moulded inhabitants.
  4. I definitely think there would be a demand for the scout/wasp. Airfix has produced a scout with numerous re-boxings (about five) over the years, however I think only one manufacturer has ever produced the wasp, which was Fujimi. Also, this moulding is more of a 1/50 scale than 1/48, and is out of production. There are several conversion kits floating around though, to convert the scout to a wasp.
  5. The Bell UH1 Iroquois has been strangely neglected by Airfix. I think it's about time one is released.
  6. As Ossian has already mentioned, some airfix kits aren't the best, but the vast majority are. I don't airbrush either, and if you do it correctly with the right brush, there are no obvious differences. Perhaps you could try using spray paints, you won't be able to change how wide the spray pattern is, but they will have the same effect in eliminating brush strokes and cost tonnes less than regular paint, plus you don't have to fork out for an airbrush or compressor. Again, the main thing is enjoying the hobby.
  7. It's a bit late to be buying the Airfix 2018 Catalogue, isn't it? 2018 will be over before you know it and 2019 will be here, very soon. 🤔 😉 😆 😀 😎 GNR-Gordon-4 Some of us collect the catalogues I only got the catalogue a month ago.
  8. As I have mentioned before, I definetly agree that a 1/72 Canberra would be a big hit. Very little work would need to be done to include the option for a RAAF B.20. In fact, this has already been done on the 1/48 version. There are a variety of weapons loads that could included, along with a variety of scheme options.
  9. I agree a luftwaffe ground crew set is long overdue. It would be good if it included something other than an Opel Blitz and Pak 40, such as a Fiat 1100. And it would be good to see some RAAF ground crew and vehicles.
  10. I could get on board with this idea; The existing kit design means that all that's needed is new main planes, gun bay doors and maybe flat rather than dihedral elevators to produce any 6-gun F-86. Yes Paws you are absolutely corect about teh little bit of work to get some more mileage out of this kit. Sorry one correction on my earlier post... the F-86A had a slighly different rear fuselage profile compared with the E, F, Sbre 2 & 4 due to the later having the all-flying tail. Also, the early E's and all the Sabre 2's had the beveled centre windscreen like the F-86A. I could also get onboard with this idea. However it would also be good if it included parts for an avon engine, 30 mm aden cannon, plus a reconfigured cockpit, different wings and the option to widen the air intakes to make a CA-27 Sabre.
  11. Having seen an airworthy canberra tt18 last week (although it was grounded for maintenence) i would also like to see one released, preferably in 1/72
  12. Grumman Duck 1/72, Supermarine Spitfire Mk Vb 1/48, Arado Ar 196 1/72 and Bedford and Matador refuellers.
  13. CAC Avon Sabre, CAC Wirraway and CAC Boomerang all in 1/48. All of which are very unlikely because no moulds for any of these aircraft exist and there would probably be very few customers outside Australia.
  14. Looks nice. It's good that the 'vintage classics' release of this set will soon be available.
  15. I prefer arcrylic due to the shorter drying time. Also, lately I've been opening the lids on my enamel paint pots only to find them either set or at least too thick to use.
  16. Would also like to see a beaufort, provided it came with an RAAF option.
  17. Looks nice, especially like the albion refueller
  18. Would like to see some more RAAF and RAN kits, including: 1/72 RAAF Spitfire MkVIII1/72 RAAF Typhoon Mk1b1/72 RAAF Tomahawk1/72 RAAF Beaufighter (wartime and post war)1/72 RAN Firefly1/72 Lysander1/72 RAAF DakotaWould also like to see a 1/76 Matilda and a Kingforce Churchill Mk III
