Asking for a friend who has installed an 8 Pin into a Class 66 and downloaded the Class 66 Sound Profile , This was done using the HM 7000 Power Supply after disconnecting his Gaugemaster DC Controller . All was well until it suddenly stope responding to the App with no sound or movement . He has de linked it but as he is DC he cannot try on DCC. Any suggestions ?

I am having as much luck trying to delete them as I have with the app !!

I installed an 8 pin decoder and it was working fine being controlled via the App . But then it stopped responding to the app and I had no sound or movement . I switched to DCC mode and using my NCE Powercab I had sound and control I have programmed it to have the loco address I want and it runs and sounds fine . But when I switch to Bluetooth I have no sound or control . Has anyone had this problem or could suggest a fix ?

I have fitted to a Hornby Class 73 used the biggest speaker housing and a powerbank. But had to use a Class 56 soundfile as after many attempts the 73 file would not load. I might have a go with my Dapol 59 using the Class 66 sound file.

This is interesting to me as I have a Dapol Class 59 and deciding what decoder to use . I would like sound and if the HM7000 can work it would be near half the cost of a Loksound . I have noted the issues around the lighting functions but does it run well ? i would be interested to know what folks experiences are .

Hi Fitted ok a Hornby class 73 big the biggest speaker housing and stay alive but could not get the sound profile to download . But was ok with downloading the Class 08 and 56 sound files.

A quick update George from Hornby contacted me and suggested that I use my DCC NCE Powercab to provided the power from my layout .1-Perform a power cycle then download the Class 08 profile . Power cycle and try and it worked. But when I tried to install the Class 73 profile although it showed it had loaded correctly I could not get sound or control the loco . I then tried power cycle and install the 08 profile again and although it loaded fine again no sound or control . I have e-mailed George with my findings and await his reply. its a shame as in theory this could be an excellent system.

I tried on my DCC layout instead of my programme track and it showed it loaded the profile but still has under Manage device a Sound Data missing warning . Also when I look to read the decoder via my NCE Powercab it cannot read the decoder . Could this be a faulty decoder ?

I have the same problem trying to load a class 73 I get an error code block failed with error code 04 - unrecoverable .

I am running an NCE Powercab and have a few questions e-mail 1- Will the Decoders work as non bluetooth so i can put it on my track and change address and control via NCE controller ? 2- Can I install the decoder put it on my track powered by NCE fire up app and programme and control via the app ? 3- Can I control my non bluetooth decoders via the app using a dongle and will it work with my NCE Powercab ?

I wonder how well it will work with non Hornby DCC Controllers I have the NCE Powercab and I wonder if the dongle with work with it. If I want app control on the NCE at the moment I have to buy a module that costs around £100. As an existing TTS decoder user I like the new decoders you can choose the sound file and also the plug in speakers and stay alives. Guess I will wait to see how things progress but a £40 outlay for dongle and free app does make it tempting.

Many Thanks GS as getting access to the tender to put in a chip would be a usual occurance I do not know why manuafacturers make it so difficult. The A4 I have is a simple remove 2 screws and the chassis drops dowm simples . 😢

I have bought R3586 RailRoad Sevenoaks DCC Ready and need to remove the tender body to put a decoder in. The instructions says lift the body away as it is held with 4 clips. I have tried this , tried squeezing but it seems stuck down, I have tried prizing away but has put a mark on the body 😮.Has anyone any suggestions ?
