  1. I have to agree that at the moment I do not like the new forum style at all. That may change as I become more familiar. However, at the moment I am not impressed with it.
  2. Cool vid. Mystic is a good guy. I am mates with him on YT also.
  3. I am 51. Will be 52 in November. I reckon i have another 20 year left.
  4. Just received a Hornby APT NDM with decoder from TMC. Very nice.
  5. Just received a Hornby Class 91 and DVT GNER livery from Hattons and 3 Mk4 GNER coaches from TMC. They were all well packaged and shipped quickly.
  6. Paid a total of $37 or £28.72 for 6 older Lima and Hornby MK2 and Mk3 coaches along with a slightly damaged Lima dummy Class 43. Pretty happy with them TBH. @Canico I agree with you about it not just being Hornby that are not meeting their delivery dates. I think it is pretty much every manufacturer both in the UK and abroad. I outside the Uk and the models here too are constantly later than promised.
  7. Wow. That is truly amazing. Very cool how everyone pitched into help.
  8. Just received from Hattons a Hornby GNER Class 91 and DVT. Will now save up for matching coaches.
  9. That is an impressive rise in price. I must admit I am a little worried about the future of Hornby which is why I ordered a Hornby Class 91 and DVT from Hattons the other day.
  10. Sure accurascale have the update page. However, my point is that they are experiencing delays like everybody else. So I am not about to criticize Hornby, a significantly larger company, for delays and give accurascale a pass. ACS announced the Class 37 in 2019 and said it would be available in in 2020 I think. We are now heading into the second half of 2023 and they have not yet completely distributed the first run of the Class 37. Every locomotive as far I know Accurascale have promised have faced delays. Don't get me wrong I like their products, however I don't take their delivery dates seriously at all as they constantly change, just like every other manufacturer.
  11. The ACS Class 37 was announced in 2019 I think. They will not have the first run of the machine complete until late in 2023. I don't see how that is any better than Hornby or the other manufacturers. I like Hornby and Accurascale products both, however, I am not going to slam Hornby and give ACS, Rapido, etc a pass. The Deltic delivery date was pushed back. I believe the same is true for the Manor from the original date. I could be wrong. As for the 50 and 66 I will be surprised if they arrive as scheduled. The 66 has the best chance as it is an updated Hatton's model.
  12. Accurascale communicate that is true. However, IMO they are no better than any other manufacturer about when their products will arrive. I have a Class 37 on order and another Deltic and a couple of Mk1 coaches. I was assured the other day that their Class 66 and Class 50 would arrive somewhat on time. I will be extraordinarily surprised either arrive before 2024.
  13. I never put much stock in when a model is expected to arrive. Until the item is actually onboard the ship headed for the UK IMO nobody including the manufacturer really has a clue when the model will arrive. This is not just for Hornby, but for all manufacturers building their products in China. Accurascale really have no clue IMO when their models will arrive. I will eat by hat if their Class 50 and Class 66 arrive any time before 2024.
  14. Thankyou Frank. I may complain about your company, but overall I enjoy it immensely.
  15. I wish him all the best. I may not agree with everything he has done, however i happily admit that overall he has done a lot of good for Hornby.
  16. Just received an old Hornby Intercity 125. I paid US$14.45 for it on on ebay and another $11 shipping.
  17. Those would be fun to have for the right price. Follow with Dads Army, Open All Hours, Young Ones and Red Dwarf.
  18. I have not tried to order it. I am not a fan of the new king TBH. Hoping for King William sooner rather than later.
  19. A worthwhile question Triangman. I have one daughter and she shows very little interest in trains. I expect my collection will be sold off here and there. That is not sad though as it means the people who will buy them will likely enjoy them too. I have bought several items this year from a large estate collection. The owner died and I often look at what I bought from the estate and think how much fun he probably had with these very same items. I like to think that he would find my little railway and my local railway club a fitting place for them.
