  1. Good to know but I actually want to know how to make the conversation I mentioned on
  2. I have a bought a 00 Guage BR MK1 GUV motorail van from a manufacturer who i would not mention. I want to modify it so the Car doors at the end can be opened so I can place cars in and out without taking the body of.
  3. So does that me there were LNER Teak-BR train mixs
  4. In BR days where there ever any British rail MK1 coach's mixed with Ex LNER Teak coaches on the same train.
  5. Is there any place in the UK we're the Landscape looks similar to South Africa.
  6. Is the Dapol track cleaners cleaning pads any good at Track cleaning?
  7. Can you use methylated spirits in the Dapol track cleaner. Dapol cleaning fluid can't be shipped overseas
  8. Thanks for your suggestions. Its purely my track causing the problem I have not got a loco on it. Its 3 rail but not nailed down yet. Looks like I need to check from the beginning.
  9. Having read bits of the forum its evident that there are some electrical experts contributing, I hope you can help. I have put together a small Dublo layout and at the moment it consists of an Elevated oval about 6ft. x 4ft.(nothing else connected) I have checked continuity and it looks OK and I tried powering up the track. I have tried a Gaugemaster, H&M, old Triang and old Bachmann controllers all with the same result. When unconnected to the track I am getting 12 to17vdc at the controller output, as soon as I connect it to the track I am lucky to get about 2vdc. I checked my Hornby 2000 on a connected track and this gives approx. 12vdc output. I hope someone can help.
  10. I know, Hornby does it to save money. Will never get an 0-6-0 loco, which sucks for DCC user like me. 🫨
  11. I would love to see the Hornby virgin trains pendolino trainset re-released but in Avanti west Coast livery, either Analogue or digital.
  12. So as the Dapol track cleaner hover is good but the Cleaning with the pads is poor, Then would a mini hover with the Woodland scenics Rail tracker work well. Mini hovers are Cheap we're I am.
  13. Yes your comment was on topic enough Thank you, I Actually meant people who start a Conversation about something not related to Question. Thanks for the Answer
  14. Then How do you paint Hornby Sleepers concrete without Coverimg the rails with paint?
  15. I going to build the WCML in 00 Guage realistically but I have Quite a lot of Hornby track. So. I was wondering if there's any location on WCML that has wooden sleeper track?(Preferably Cheshire) So i don't have to buy, or buy less concrete sleeper Track. (Please keep on topic please)
  16. Despite being OK for about a month, one rail at a track joint has become raised after ballasting. This is causing trains to derail. Despite being OK for a couple of months, one rail at a track joint has become raised and is causing train derailments. This happened after ballasting, i probably used to much. I have tried digging out ballast to allow the rail back down without success. Are there suggestions before I have to relay this section of track? Is there any suggested
  17. The purpose of the Train sets box is to store everything in unless you are building it into a full layout then you would get rid of it but I have old sets from Triang, Airfix and Hornby Dublo safely stored in their original boxes!
  18. The long lost tooling to the Tyko Grill four wheel tram has been found as this had been made by many manufactures in the states! It was last with Mantua who owned the Tyko name but they went bust in 2004 and were taken over by Model Power who in turn went out of business and the tooling vanished as Lional didn't have it when they got Model Powers tooling! Its in Mattel's hands with the former Corgi PCC and Burney O gauge trams and the former Matchbox Didler Trolleybus I just hope they make em again!
  19. Plastic is a pollution that must stop as Triang had the right idea with their cardboard set trays! Hornbys polystyrene trays were horrible they were always a mess and hard to get rid of but now Hornby has gone Cardboard like Triang did that makes it better we don't want plastic or polystyrene anymore!
  20. Hornby makes the same livery as Dapol did all those years ago but with a different running number, after all Hornby did the BR and LMS liveries so why can't we have a new Lancashire and Yorkshire one from Hornby!
  21. Hornby took over the production of the former Dapol Pug locomotive, but while Hornby has done various BR and LMS liveries there has never been a Lancashire and Yorkshire livery? Dapol did this livery in the eighties when they were in Winsford Cheshire I have one it runs well, so why can't Hornby make their own Lancashire and Yorkshire pug to add to its range that would be different to Dapols version so let's have one OK Hornby!
  22. You may never find out. Usually Colin sets a hare running by way of a rant or questions already answered by the forum in principle, then leaves folk to argue about it amongst themselves. Jane she asked me about the Airfix Castle it can as my Pendennis Castle has one and I was telling her she can do it as its a it easier than the Airfix Class 31 as I'm putting a DCC concepts chip in there as that will make the loco work fine but the TTS I don't think so!
  23. yes Jane the Castle would be fine on DCC but when Kader made these Class 31s in the Seventies they used a lot of power like the Triang R357 Class 31! They are risky putting a standard TTS sound chip in an Airfix Class 31 but both in it and the Triang version there's plenty of room to put the sound chip and speaker but is it worth doing this on fifty year old locos?
  24. OK I have an AIrfix Castle can you DCC that Steam Loco!
