  1. Loose lead shot pellets from Railway scenics. There's just enough space in the body shell to put a bit front and back.
  2. A quick video to show the slow running improvement to the 08 with a little bit of weight added inside the body. Didn't need to add much, but it's drastically reduced the chances of it stalling on the points.
  3. Ok you might have to duck slightly going in the door up the stairs, but I'm 6 foot 5, I have to duck for most doors anyway 🤣
  4. Today's project: on the right, half finished Metcalfe ramshackle workshop kit in N gauge next to a 00 download kit printed at 63% for TT. Metcalfe doesn't look out of place for scale to me so far.
  5. Decided to rejig the factory area, possibly with some Metcalfe N factory buildings. I'd been looking at some other people's photos of their layouts and the Metcalfe buildings didn't seem out for TT. The weather's looking awful for busking in Glasgow the next few days so that could be a rainy day project. Also trying some card templates to visualise a tunnel area on the branchline. The joy of this hobby, even if an area looks finished, it never is. Always the chance to try something different 😂
  6. My band managed to put out a 24 hour live stream gig on YouTube that sounded miles better than most of what Hornby's put out, and we work on a budget of £0 and tech not far up from tin cans and string. You'd think a reasonably big company would be able to get that right.
  7. Hopefully they've worked on getting the tech side a bit slicker by now. Ideally I think you'd want a pre-recorded slick product launch video followed by a live Q&A
  8. I'm hoping that it's a pre-recorded produced video that's going out on their YouTube channel at 9am, and that it's already in the can.
  9. By the time I've got the whole layout covered in the stuff I'll probably have got the hang of it... 😂
  10. Experimenting with dry brush track and ballast weathering
  11. From the album: Hollybush Railway

First attempt at weathering track and ballast, dry brush technique
  12. Picked up a few scenic detail items to work on the area around Dalrymple station and the goods yard. Some rock outcrops from a wargame model shop (I'll have a go at making my own at some point, but I thought it might be an idea to get some that have been made by someone who knows what they're doing as a reference point first). More fencing and ballast on order. Got some weathering powder too, experiments with that coming soon.
  13. I've half a mind to film a video for my YouTube channel where the thumbnail looks all clickbaity and 'TT:120 - DID HORNBY MAKE A HUUUUGE MISTAKE???', and the video is only a few seconds long, I just say 'nope' and cut to my layout 😂
  14. Another wee video, a running session with all the locos I've got so far
  15. I wouldn't hold out too much hope for things like a catalogue at the minute, I don't think there will be all that many things that weren't included in the first one as being for later phases or that we are fairly sure are coming. Hopefully there's a couple of surprises coming, but a pessimist is never disappointed.
  16. Posts have just started going up on Hornby's official social media platforms confirming that the TT:120 range announcement for this year will be live on their YouTube channel at 9am on the 2nd of April.
