  1. Ha, yeah now that you've pointed the lintel out it's all I can see on it 😂 It's not a perfect match up with the N kit to TT of course, but it's near enough for me to be happy with it. It's certainly closer than some of my first home made efforts
  2. One more post looking at how Metcalfe N doors and TT:120 figures line up. The kits I've done so far are all industrial buildings, which tend to have larger doorways. I found the small factory kit has a small door about the size you'd find on houses. I thought I'd compare to real life. I always thought I was a scale too big for reality... 😂 Anyway, I'm quite happy that the Metcalfe kits will work well for scale now.
  3. No worries, it's all relevant to the discussion on Metcalfe kits here at the moment. I've found pens hit and miss. I only tend to use them for things like roof edges and undersides where I just want to get them dark enough to blend in with a fairly black printed surface.
  4. From the album: Hollybush Railway

Noch TT120 figure in front of a Metcalfe N door, compared to real life.
  5. I've been using some dry brush weathering powder.
  6. I feel your pain, quite literally! I'm a few inches taller than that. The worst I've encountered was my old University buildings at Stirling, where almost every door was just shorter than me and I spent most of my time there with a headache even if I'd not been in the union the night before! 😂
  7. Also so I could develop the required skills as I go. I'd not done anything like this in years, so start off with very simple kits, basic electronics and so on, and go back and upgrade things as I get the hang of them. The Metcalfe kits are great, and pretty straightforward to understand how it all goes together, but having had a go at a few free downloaded and simple basic buildings has given me a bit of a head start on what I'm doing now I'm building more detailed kits. 🙂
  8. Finished the warehouse kit this morning with the tower and entrance building. Here it is with a Noch TT figure in the doorway and I'm more convinced than ever that Metcalfe N will work fine for TT:120.
  9. Aye. I love the Noch figures, beautifully detailed but a bit pricey. The Moor View set comes in at £1 a person plus postage which isn't too bad.
  10. Yeah, those are the figures I've got, really like them. I think I'll need to get another set to work the locos, as the first ones I got all seemed to find work in the factory. Speaking of which, since it's a total washout of a weekend I've set myself a wee project to upgrade the factory buildings with Metcalfe kits. Here's the first part done, with a couple of the Moor View figures loading some oil drums
  11. Not yet, but I'm planning on getting drivers in all the trains at some point.
  12. Sounds pretty positive news. I'd imagine that figures would be a relatively easy product for them to test the market in, and there's every chance they've got other stuff in development that they're not ready to announce yet.
  13. Cheers Dodge and Taunmarc! Aye, small wheelbase locos like the 08 can be a bit of a pain to get running over the points smoothly, hope you can get yours fettled, glad to hear you're having fun with the Inglenook 🙂
  14. After quite a bit of fiddling around with things, the 08 is running better than it ever has. Relaid some track so it's as level as possible, pinned points down as well as gluing, tweaked pickups so they're always in contact, added some weight, and after finding it was still a little jerky in reverse, put a drop of sewing machine oil to lubricate the gears. Now it'll crawl smoothly through the points in both directions even though it's DC and has no power bank or digital controls.
  15. Confirmed at the Q&A, the J50 will have front and rear couplings.
  16. Yeah, I'd presume it's just been photographed/image mocked up with just the rear and the actual production model will have both. Glad to have the Q&A where we can check in on details like that to be sure
  17. Rule 1 always. It's why I put a TARDIS on my layout, can be any time I want it to be 😀
  18. Yeah, bet there will be some questions in the Q&A about that, at least with that it'll be confirmed one way or the other soon
