  1. That green Class 08 will be very useful. Glad to see it’s coming before the summer too.
  2. I’ve run my old Triang TT on the new track no problem, it handles points fine. I didn’t change anything on the locos, just put them on the track and they were fine. Heres my Triang Class 31 going through the points.
  3. The next announcements are in April. Based on the interviews and articles released so far, the class 37 is expected to be formally announced then as part of phase 3. So hopefully pricing and pre-orders in April with a release early 2025 or thereabouts. Im also waiting for news on that model, so fingers are crossed. 😀
  4. My MK1s are 16.5cm over buffers and about (or just over) 18cm to tips of couplers? Perhaps Hornby round up their sizes for the tech specs? The 57ft coaches should be about 1.5cm shorter, hopefully they won’t be delayed much longer as I’ve got a few of them on pre-order :)
  5. I’m thinking the British Pullman could be an LMS Duchess with maroon versions of the existing Pullman coaches? Alternatively it could be a Blue Pullman liveried HST (although that would mean two HST sets at the same time so perhaps less likely than the Duchess idea.
  6. IIRC weren’t they confirmed as March/April dates at one of the recent shows?
  7. It’s because of the early bird discounts. Hornby were giving 15% off all orders including pre-orders which is a great deal, but means that if the Phase 3 models were announced and added to the store before March then Hornby would lose 15% of the profit for the entire phase. The delay and loss of discounts is not great for those of us that supported the scale from the start, but it makes sense as a business decision. I strongly suspect Hornby sees April as a relaunch for TT rather than a continuation. Look how little effort has been put into supporting it recently, with only some recycled Class 50 / Class 66 info in the TT Talk and the TT Members pages haven’t been updated for months (and still show the diorama competition that ended in September). Im looking forward to Phase 3 but there is no doubt that the delays will have hurt the momentum the scale was building in the UK.
  8. I don’t think it’s a settings thing. I can view issues 1-4 no problem, it’s just issue 5 that is compressed. Looking at the file sizes #5 is only 5mb instead of the usual 20mb so I suspect it’s simply been exported with the wrong settings.
  9. No sign of the 0-6-0 tank engine announcement promised in the last issue. That’s a real shame, seems like all the exciting announcements are delayed until spring? I notice the winter issue of the magazine has really badly compressed images too, the pictures are noticeably grainy and pixellated.
  10. Yes very easy. Community > TT:120 Club > Sign In The next page loads automatically and the club magazines and TT Talk blogs are listed as links.
  11. Is your set the digital dcc set or the analogue controller set? I’ve got the digital set and I’d definitely recommend the Hornby HM7000 as the Bluetooth works really well (and it’s a lot cheaper than buying a traditional DCC control system).
  12. ‘Vendor’ usually means manufacturer in this context. So the company that is producing the moulds and manufacturing the models is the vendor. The EU version will be sold through the Arnold website (accessible via the tab menu at the top of the Hornby site). Last months Train Terminal update showed the parts for the class 66 including both Hornby and Arnold branded fuel tanks. You will get Hornby points on your Arnold purchase if you are a club member. Rubber wheels means traction tyres (very popular and common on European locomotive models). They’ve never been popular in the UK market so our versions don’t have them.
  13. The new Train Terminal blog is up. Running samples of Duchess and Class 66 (both already seen at Warley). https://uk.hornby.com/community/hornbytt120-club/members-area/blog-and-news/good-tidings-tt
  14. Review of the DHL version:
  15. A few more crossover locos to follow the class 66 would be a good idea. There have been a lot of UK classes used elsewhere that would help increase sales through the Arnold branding. Class 20 and Class 86 for example. https://www.railwaymagazine.co.uk/5928/from-the-archive-brits-abroad/
  16. That would be a bit harsh on the club members, but would make sense from a business point of view. Hopefully not the case though, as it’s going to mean those announcements are being artificially delayed (and also slows the momentum of the scale just when it needs to be building up).
  17. The TT Club page hasn’t been updated for months (it’s still showing the diorama competition that ended in September!). I suspect there is a major update due, perhaps with new magazine, new blog and hopefully 2024 release announcements?
  18. The last issue was late, so we probably need to expect the autumn issue to arrive 3 months after the summer issue. The magazine team still need to do all the work of preparing the magazine even if there are no longer any physical print lead times to deal with. So assuming a 3 month production time would mean it’s probably going to arrive early next year (if my maths is right). Hopefully we see it sooner than that, and we get the promised reveal of the new 0-6-0T
  19. Yeah it’s not really late until January. :)
  20. They already are. The usual going rate is about £5 per magazine. Don’t know who’s buying them considering there are free digital versions on this very website! :)
  21. After the member discounts lapse.
  22. It will be interesting to see if the next magazine has the reveal of the 0-6-0T as teased in the last issue. Heres hoping for a big phase 3 unveiling and new catalogue in January if not before.
  23. I’d bet we see some new liveries for the MK1s in phase 3 & 4. The blue and grey at least, if not some of the other regional schemes. Resturant coach would seem likely as a future release given that TT allows for longer trains so more variety of coaches can be used.
  24. These wagons are in stock now, last few available. No Maersk left so I’ve just ordered a DHL one.
  25. Sorry Andy but this is terrible advice. I do a lot of selling on eBay and I can tell you that having a ‘Best Offer’ often makes the difference between selling or not. The way to avoid ridiculous offers is to use settings on the ‘Best Offer’ to automatically reject offers below your minimum price. That way you will only get offers that are in the ballpark of what you are willing to accept.
