  1. It’s strange how negative some people are about this scale. I just don’t get it, it’s not like manufacturing is a zero sum game where manufacturers can only make one scale. I honestly wonder if Accurascale made a N gauge wagon would anyone bat an eyelid? There just seems to be something about TT that’s bringing out the trolls. I don’t see anyone complaining about their O gauge range?
  2. Likewise, but it looks like paper catalogues are reaching the end of the line so to speak. Hopefully there is another ‘proper’ standalone official TT calendar at some point. The Hornby magazine version is all well and good but it doesn’t help those of us that don’t subscribe or have a newsagents nearby.
  3. It could be an April fool, but the fact they’ve released research team figures would seem to point to a ‘watch this space’ in terms of TT? It would definitely be good to have some of those modern image wagons, and at least a few of their OO/N range are suitable for European modellers? So perhaps they plan to test the water with one of those?
  4. KFA looks great in that render. I guess those aren’t fitting into the six mont timeframe following delays? The unexpected Hornby versi9n of those Arnold containers were perhaps a stop-gap because the Class 66 wouldn’t have any suitable wagons otherwise?
  5. Just had an email that the Highland Croft building is in stock. Seems like some of the new items are trickling in?
  6. Compared to those early threads there’s (slightly) less negativity too, perhaps there is light at the end of the proverbial tunnel? 🙂
  7. Isn’t the new brand manager ex-Lego? I’d assume they are a marketer not a train buff, and for these QA sessions you need someone who can answer the questions live, and that’s what we had today. Both of the chaps on hand to answer questions knew their stuff. The brand manager is presumably working more behind the scenes, looking at the business side of things and the high level marketing and development plan rather than the details of each particular model or product?
  8. EBay might be your best bet. There is bound to be one or two copies of it for sale.
  9. The Arnold model is diecast chassis, it’s the exact same model as far as I can see (also the same containers as the previously announced second run of Arnold wagons). Review here gives details on the chassis and weight:
  10. The Class 66 has bogies suitable for an SD40 or similar, so might make a good starting point? I expect an SD40 or a GP38 would go down well with US TT modellers. Currently nothing available RTR.
  11. Yes the Class 37 is looking very nice, easily on a par with recent high profile OO versions. The lack of new MK1 liveries seems odd, I wonder if it’s because Blue & Grey versions don’t fit into the (roughly) six month time frame for new announcements? If they were due end of the year/early next year then they might be announced in the autumn.
  12. They confirmed that during the live Q&A, looking forward to picking up a copy on Thursday.
  13. Yes those appear to be the same Arnold models already announced but with a different catalogue number. It’s interesting that the Hornby versions have got different containers. I was hoping for some more typical UK brands, or even just some generic brown/green/dark red containers.
  14. The picture looks like it has a coupler box on the front? Certainly any shunting layout will need both couplers so I’d assume there will be one. The class 08 has front and rear couplers so I’d be very surprised if the J50 doesn’t follow the same principles.
  15. For the HST it’s a bit useless yes, but the track included here is the same as all the other sets, and if you look at the set as the start of a layout then having a siding makes more sense?
  16. Those appear to be some time next year. Today’s announcement is the first of the new style where Hornby announce models closer to launch. All of the models mentioned today (except the Class 37) are due to be available over the next six months or so.
  17. I’d suspect the Peco signals would be more detailed/scale and the Hornby ones a little more solid and functional? The throw levers looked substantial on the renders?
  18. J50 looks great, and due in roughly six months too? Just in time for my branch line layout. The signals and crossing both looked good too.
  19. A1/A3 market then. It’s saturated in the ‘A’ loco department. 😉
  20. I think it’s safe to say the TT A2 market is saturated for now. They seem to have shifted several thousand of them over the past 18 months. 🙂
  21. Perhaps the current Scotsman set will be dropped and replaced with one using Greasleys? That would explain the new set with Blue A4 and Pullmans?
  22. Looking forward seeing what is announced/confirmed. Hoping for pre-orders and dates for the Class 37 and the GWR Tank engine. Also hoping for blue and grey MK1s.
  23. Rumour has it he’s already got the video recorded and ready to publish on the 2nd… 😂
  24. Fingers crossed. Hopefully the MK2s aren’t too far behind.
  25. If this is the ex-Lima coaches then you will need to slide a thin screwdriver in under the edge of the floor on either side, there are plastic lugs holding the floor onto the body. Take the bogies off first so you don’t damage them. Its a bit of a faff, but once you’ve got a couple of the lugs popped out it should be easy to get the rest.
