  1. Wow! you really do like the class 50, only 1 though and not both? The only OO loco I have are an Airfix Class 31 which has © 1977 on the box so I'm assuming that is when the tooling was done. The class 50 can carry the torch so to speak until the 31 eventually arrives in TT scale.
  2. 30th May for DC LMS era 3and 12th June for era 4 & 5 at the moment. Hopefully these dates will remain. Edit: The DCC versions are currently 26th June for LMS and 26th July for era 4 & 5.
  3. Not sure which mk1 you have on order, as far as I am aware all mk1s are available. The mk2f are due tomorrow and the mk2e are next April/May.
  4. It looks like we’re still on for D Day tomorrow. Still down for 21st. Fingers crossed the 50s and mk2 coaches are released. Mines going to be busy with main line express, branch line local and freight duties lined up.
  5. Its Supply and demand at work. There is no supply and the demand is high. Even if they had to push something else back get another production run in and let folk buy them.
  6. if Hornby still had them on the website and allowed a pre-order for them along with a date for return there would be little demand in the 2nd hand market.
  7. If Hornby announced a pre-order for the Blue 08 then it wouldn't happen. Hornby are shooting themselves in the foot by removing it and obviously are making too much revenue so they don't need a good selling item on the website. Martin said in an interview he was happy for people to earn by selling stuff 2nd hand, unfortunately Hornby doesn't profit from 2nd hand eBay sales.
  8. I'm just sulking because it's not released yet 😂
  9. I use the magnetic ones also, not had a decoupling since. Makes it easier for swapping coaches / wagons in & out too.
  10. probably the expense of putting in two and giving a speaker with the decoder. Glad the digital versions are back on track.
  11. you're talking 2 years away minimum probably 3-4 realistically, unless they are part of one of the 'surprise' announcements that may or may not be mentioned later this year.
  12. Me too, I hope it doesn't move again. I do suspect we dropped back to the 21st due to 17th being a Friday and having to do all those pre-orders end of week. Tuesday gives them Monday to despatch all the weekend orders before release. It may all be nonsense and have a completely different reason for the delay...
  13. I remember the sleepers in the catalogue as a kid, it was around 82/83 then. An era 7 Buffet car that didn't have 125 across it would be nice though.
  14. Blink Bonny now has a speaker fitted and the DC HST did not. It would make sense not to have one in the DC versions seeing as you get one with the decoder.
  15. So far then it looks like a Restaurant / Buffet car in Era 7 or 8 (I suspect 7 BR Blue) is the most popular of the limited audience. This is followed by a Brake Gangwayed in era 7. For eras 4 &5 the First and standard (Third) corridor coaches. From the ramble video I saw it would seem sleeper coaches are not popular with Hornby as they tend to stay in their warehouse. Thank you to all who voted.
  16. I think the Class 800s are bi mode so would be a good start to both modern era and electric locos. They fit with the current Hornby thinking of diesel due to more widespread appeal. I read that they are in use on both East and West Coast Mainlines and soon to be introduced to the Midland Mainline by EMR with the 810 Aurora.
  17. The DC versions are still on 29/05/2024 for LMS and 12/06/2024 for BR era 4&5.
  18. APT! they could do a 5 and 7 coach version.
  19. For font size I just selected View > Zoom In on the browser (Safari) and much better 🙂
  20. Only the digital duchess has dropped back to July. The LMS is 29th this month along with the 57' coaches in era 3, 4, & 5. The Era 4 & 5 Duchesses are 12th June for DC versions. This is also the release date set for the HAA hoppers. The class 50 for both DC & DCC and era 7 & 8 are now 21st of this month along with the Mk2f coaches.
  21. Nice, I'll read it later at work 🙂
  22. Hopefully this time next week we'll all be posting about why our orders have not been posted yet!
  23. I’ve created this thread from the Class 50 one as the idea of new coaches and liveries seemed quite popular. In order to simplify things I’m sticking with the Mk1 coaches and the liveries will be for Era 4 & 5 and 7 & 8 only. This is because as much as we all want every coach in every livery I’m thinking sticking to simple batches will more likely get noticed and taken on by Hornby. Era 4 – BR Carmine and Cream (Blood & Custard) Era 5 – BR Maroon Era 7 – BR Blue and Grey Era 8 – BR Executive / Swallow / Grey Mk1 & Mk2 coaches were mixed together in rakes and from what I’ve seen on various pages had the same top speed of 100mph. As we currently have Mk2f due any day with First / Standard open in era 7 & 8 and Mk2e next year, I’ve left FO / SO era 7 & 8 off for now as not to have a too long a list. The poll will close on 9th June.
  24. What are they? lol sorry I'm not too familiar with the abbreviations. Edit: found a guide on wikipedia so SK - Second Corridor, SO - Second Open, Restaurant / Buffet. Would like to see First Class and Sleeper coaches (Mk1 and Mk2) too.
  25. The era is just the livery they wear when it comes to coaches. The era 7's are generally blue and grey of the 70's & early 80's with era 8 the swallow / executive livery of the mid-late 80s. There were multiple versions of the Mk2 coaches, for TT the Mk2f are being released first for reasons unknown. I don't know why the website shows mk2e as era 8 because the blue grey should be era 7. A similar era livery exists for the Mk1 coaches with era 4 being blood and custard and era 5 the red version. Hornby could produce Mk1 era 7 if they wanted as it would be the same coach as the era 4 & 5 but in the blue & grey.
