Howbi
Is it just me?......it's taking ages to navigate from one page to another........HB
Postman Prat
Hi HB Not just you - it's just taken an age to log-in. I'll probably go away and come back this afternoon.
Chrissaf
No its not just you. I notice that Hornby.com (not just the forum) is very slow EVERY DAY between 11:30 and 12:30 approximately. Probably some auto-maintenance routines are running in the background on the servers.
walkingthedog
It's been very slow since I looked at 0830. Seems to be pretty standard nowadays.
Chrissaf
12:33 and the forum response times seem to be back to their nomal level (for me anyway). Slow, but not as excessive as it gets about 12 midday. Ties in with my earlier reply.
walkingthedog
Yes I do believe you are right.

walkingthedog
My last post took so long it timed out so I had to do it again. Bad gateway or similar.
2e0dtoeric
I thought it was my pc acting up, so I shut down and restarted it! 🤔
Howbi
Extremely slow tonight.........took three attempts to post, getting 502 Gateway page.......HB
Chrissaf
There have been quite a few recent mail shots promoting Christmas Sales. It's possible that Hornby.com is generally busy as a result i.e more in the shop website area than on the forum. AFAIK, all the Hornby websites, Hornby, Corgi, Airfix etc all share the same server location..Yes you are correct, navigation has been slow for some hours now. Rog RJ
Glad it's not just me getting slow response. I blame it on all those snow balls being hurled about at the top of the page 😉
Chrissaf
Navigation response times seem to be improving as the evening wears on.....
96RAF
Slow this morning and we are 2 hours ahead of UK so not likely to be many folk about on the site.Rob
2e0dtoeric
Painfully slow this evening - taking up to a minute from clicking the green 'reply' button, to the post appearing.

Howbi
I still believe it is the "snow" in the banner causing the problem........maybe Admin could get it removed temporarily to determine if it is guilty of slowing down the site.......... 😀..........HB
Fishmanoz
It’s a real problem that snow HB. Given how warm it is over here just now, that snow melts the instant it hits the screen and makes everything wet! I’m forever mopping up and that slows down use of the site. Howbi
Pity it didn't snow on the cricket, might have got us a draw........ 😎..........HB
olly
Admin say they're looking into the site and forum being so slow. Hopefully it will get fixed soon
Fishmanoz
Cricket MkII - day 5, in the balance and no snow in site HB. Still would rather be in our dressing room. As for the even slower response times here this morning, must be the snow. I think they have to get a plough in to clear the internet lines before the site can respond. VESPA
I don't know what is wrong with these Forums but as mentioned the pages load too slowly and the side bar movement is ridiculously jerky. It really has put me off coming on here and when I do get on to post I get annoyed with the poor way it operates and end up posting once and then going elsewhere on the web. Perhaps it is time that Hornby called time on the Forums until it is fixed or shut them altogether and let other websites take the messages that people have. Sorry ladies and gents but I for one loved coming on here but now tend to avoid it looking in only now and again.
Chrissaf
I'm on and off the forum most hours of the day.......my experience is that the forum has been stable with acceptable navigation response times for the best part of a week. Probably tempting fate saying that, but I have not seen the long page update delays for some time now.
