mal
I have lost the left side middle main wheel con rod nut. Caame off in running and cannot find. I am having difficulty locating any spares. Tried Peters spares no joy. The is a Hornby Thomas series Henry (The green engine) and is about 10 years old. One of my grandsons engines so anxious to get up and running. Any ideas please thanks Malcolm
NWR-Gordon-4
I am unsure if this part is for sale as spare. I can't remember it seeing listed. You could try and find it, or buy yourself the current R9292 Henry, before they sell out, as Hornby's Thomas license is ending soon. walkingthedog
How about these. eBay is always worth a look. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/X8407B-Hornby-Spare-COUPLING-ROD-SET-BLACKED-for-Henry/142930374291?hash=item2147506e93:g:b8EAAOSwwVBbknyY
NWR-Gordon-4
That's the right one. It's for R9049 Henry, which malB has, if his Henry is about 10 years old. R9292 Henry first came out in 2016, with a 2015 announcement. GNR-Gordon-

walkingthedog
Mal I’m glad the link I gave you was helpful. As I said eBay is always worth a look for spare parts. Grandsons need to be treated as royalty don’t they 😆
96RAF
Peters Spares have the X8407Bhttps://www.petersspares.com/hornby-x8407b-connecting-rods-screws-set-black-5-henry.ir Postage costs more than the item though. I typed Henry in the search box.Rob

NWR-Gordon-4
I suppose it does not matter who mal purchases the rods from. Only thing matters is that they are the correct parts, which they are. GNR-Gordon-

joe_holmes1
Hi AllThis appears to be an issue with the TTTE loco's !Having bought the Thomas & Friends train set for my grandson in January 18after a couple of circuits round the track the pin on the con rod disappeared answould not stay in. So a return to Hornby HQ for a repair. Once it arrived back, another couple of circuits and the very same thing happened ! So back it went to Hornby HQ ! So far it has been OK.Today I tested a new loco that we have bought for him. James the Red Engine.Straight out of the box, onto the track and it completed a couple of circuits before coming to a sudden stop.Looking at it, the pin from the con rod had come out ! Despite putting it back in twice, it would not stay in.So I am now awaiting a reply from Hornby HQ to have it returned and repaired.I am just so glad that I decided to test the loco before I gave it to him !Joe H
NWR-Gordon-4
Are these the current generation models that you have, that are having these issues, joe_holmes1? GNR-Gordon-
96RAF
One of my standard post receipt pre-track checks is once round the loco with Mk1 eyeball and a basic tool set, checking tht nothing obvious is falling off and all fasteners are tight. So far precious little has fallen off in the initial running period thanks to common sense before use checks.Rob
walkingthedog
Same here Rob, check all is tight with the nut spinner.
