  1. Whilst in my local model shop a few weeks ago, these couplings were mentioned and they were taking orders for them ! So I assume they will be sold in seperate packs. JoeH
  2. This sits alongside another problem that occured in Spain a few ago. In Cartagena the shipyard were building submarines. The first one off the assembly line was being thoroughly checked over for any faults or deficiencies. It was discovered that somewhere during the calculations a decimel point was put in the wrong place which resulted in the vessel being ten times it's maximum weight ! If it had been launched and taken down, it would never have been able to resurface !! The Spanish had to call in experts from the USA to get the problems sorted out in order for the contract of 10 vessels to be completed. sunglasses
  3. Never had a problem with DPD, they always delivered between the times that he message said they would. Have had issues with Royal Mail in the past. The worst one being a parcel that I sent "Registered & Signed for" not arriving at the destination. When I put in the complaint the first response was " we will pay you the value of the contents" ! I complained further whereupon I was put intouch with the "alleged" manager of the depot in Belfast, (Where all lost parcels and letters" are sent to be returned to the sender. This perso tried to tell me that a thorough search had been conducted and they could not locate my parcel ! Despite the parcel being clearly labelles with receiver and sender ! So after a fruitless arguement they gave me a few quid back. Disgiusting service. Now, I always try to use a courier such as DPD. Joe H
  4. Unfortunately I have never come across this day ! Having lived in Spain for 18 years it was hard enough trying to find somewhere that actually sold anything to do with model railways. Perhaps we could start a campaign to have it recognised in the UK ?? smile Great idea though
  5. Fox Transfers have them. However, they do not feature the cap badge. https://www.fox-transfers.co.uk/catalogsearch/result/?q=kings+royal+rifle+corps Swift & Bold JoeH
  6. I have collected for the last 20 odd years. Being a Nine Elms/Stewarts Lane boy I love the old Southern Region loco's and trains. However, I just buy rolling stock that I like, or take a fancy to. I have rolling stock from all pre nationalised companies, and regions. Whilst I don't particularly like modern era rolling stock, private companies, etc I do have a couple of these in my collection. Run whatever you like, as I do ! It is your railway. The best advicw I can offer is to join a Model Railway Club where you can talk to other like-minded people, experiment with your trains or ask for advice. You won't regret it. Above all, just enjoy whatever it is you decide to do, and have fun. smile
  7. Thanks 96 RAF. These will upgrade a few locos that need it. Thank again for the link JOeH
  8. Hi There I was always under the impression that Peco track was actually HO because of the very large North American and European markets. thinking_face
  9. I have used thus guy in the past to obtain suitrable wheel sets for my DOck Shunters. John normally asks for the old ones in return. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/132622340710 Great wheel sets that really make a difference. Joe H
  10. For the edge of boards, I have used Polypipe insulation. This fits over the board edges very easily and offers good protection. It is available in 1 metre lengths, and in different sizes, and is relatively cheep. Available from all DIY stores. thumbsup
  11. Dam !! You have just made me order the N15 from Hattons sunglasses I will tell my swmbo that the "big boys made me do it" joyjoy Thank you for the lead.
  12. Joined as a Junior Rifleman at Winchester in 69. Weekly wage, 6 guineas. (Yes the Army payscales still used guineas !) Food and accomodation charges were stopped, along with tax and National Insurance. All boy soldiers were only allowed £1.10.0 shillings a week, the rest had to be saved in your Post Office Savings Account, or sent home. Loved every minute of it ! smiley
  13. If I remember correctly, when these coaaches were first announce, they were to fitted with illuminated table lamps. Not sure about any overhead lighting throughout the carriage.
  14. I had the same issue with my heavy all brass track cleaning vehicle. I tried all sorts of combinations of my large steam loco's, but nothing seemed to work satisfactorily. In the end I purchased a secondhand, BR Green, Class 40. (About £45.00) This has been the answer to the problem. Works every time with no hassle. sunglasses
  15. Just been on a few days break to Torquay. Visited Paignton, and went into a lovely model shop. Found two SR Restaurant coaches at a very reasonable price, so bought the pair. These will now compliment my Royal Wessex set, and one other. Great shop and good prices.
