We got a reply back at 6:10pm. It seems this pop-up is an interim arrangement implemented at short notice to meet legal 'cookie' requirements. We have been advised that a more permanent technical solution is in the pipeline to replace it. Hopefully one that is less annoying and irritating [i.e one that doesn't keep jumping up and down]. So please be patient and persevere with it for the time being. As a legal requirement, the web page code that generates it is written in such a way that it cannot be blocked or disabled at local browser level. To be honest I was surprised it took so long for anybody to post about it. I expected this thread (or similar) to be started much earlier."
