Evening everyone. New to the forum in terns of posting anything as I'm a luddite and can't work computers.

However, I've been an Airfix follower since about 1972 when I got my first figures on my fifth birthday from my Grandparents. Got a lot of stuff in my collection but I've always loved the figures and although I wargame many periods and use metal figures I can never leave the Airfix alone for long.

Here are some pics of an early war British Infantry Pltn, based on pennies and ready to deploy.

With a shot of the opposition thrown in.

Did you use glossy colors? What about an "closer" Picture of the Germans?

Thanks, I enjoy painting them, its how I relax. I used acrylics on an enamel undercoat and then gloss enamel varnish as its tough enough for handling when wargaming.

Sorry for the tardy reply, struggled to download pictures but here are some of the Germans with a Tommy or two thrown in. You may notice a couple of Matchbox I had to include as they are such nice figures. Cheers.

Thats a fantastic paint job, Doom. Especially the insignia is exellent. What about a matt varnish for sealing? I think they would look even better. Cheers!

Thanks Tomek, your comments are much appreciated and you could be correct regards the matt finish. I have some Fallshirmjager that I will try the matt varnish on and I'll post some pics today hopefully. Cheers.

On the subject of varnishing figures the rule used ( 40 years ago anyway) to be gloss for durability for wargaming and matt for looks for dioramas.
