ellocoloco
I can't help but notice that the price for the forthcoming TT Class 66 CoCo is around half that of the existing Arnold TT BR251 CoCo Electric. (Two reasonably comparable products with Next 18 sockets)Now that we will (soon) have directly comparable British and European models, is one overpriced or the other under detailed? Incidentally, the British TT range announced today will probably be a greater variety than all that has been marketed under the Arnold brand since its acquisition.(I do fancy a Duchess and 66....) 96RAF
I thought the track was priced reasonably apart from the digi power track at £22 which could be an error seeing as the analogue equivalent was way cheaper in line with other track. Fishmanoz
Your optimism on that price is without bounds Rob. I think my cynicism is more realistic.
Brew Man
Yes, particularly when you look at the hike up between OO DC power rails and clips and their DCC counter parts, whose only difference is the absence of a suppressor cap. A fine example of less costing more.
RB51
We’re fairly sure that a typo, and have asked them to check. R-
Carltonf
I think there is a huge price fault with the Track Pack 1. The components add up to £23.40, but it is listed at £57.30. The other track packs offer savings of between 14%-20%. I've contacted Hornby for clarification as I would be keen to order the packs to make a nice circuit. RB51
Let us know the response [either way] so we can take it further if necessary. It’s not the only pricing anomaly we have discovered. R-
Carltonf
As it turns out, track pack 1 isn’t needed with either of the available starter sets, which (according to the brochure) contain an oval plus track pack A. So that’s £20-55 saved! (Hornby still need to correct the price though imo!)
Carltonf
Track Pack 1 Price updated! But like I say, with the train sets, you won't need it to make the track pack layout plan.
RB51
As has the digital power connector. Hurray! R-
Herbie
Track pack 1 updated to £24.90, but individually the pieces come to £23.43.I would guess a buffer stop has been missed off the list. Also points usually join to a radius 6 curve not 4?I would also request a price check for 1st Radius quarter and halves, which don't have the same reduction in prices as other radiuses. RB51
Thanks SteveC, I’ll add it to the list. R-
DBfan
As regards to the price differential between the Arnold BR251 and the Hornby TT Class 66, the Arnold model is a very well detailed model as well as having pantographs, which the Class 66s do not, and are probably less detailed.
