96RAF
SCARM has a few examples of track plans that users have sent in...https://www.scarm.info/layouts/track_plans.php?scale=TT#filterLatest update includes Peco TT-55 trackage. Hornby TT track info has been supplied to Milen the SCARM author and will presumably appear later.
JohnE1707822967
Good idea. I wish some of the plans would also fit standard sheets of ply too (here in Aus we get standard project panel sizes at Bunnings ie. 1200x600 etc), or even door sized layouts. 5Dublo2
If anyone generates a track plans book there are a few things (that have been lacking in most if not all previous versions) that need considering1) make sure the geometry does line up properly and is not a 'fudge' that doesn't quite line up2) make sure electrical issues such as reverse loops are mentioned/covered3) if gradients are involved make sure that the current (available or planned) locos can haul a reasonable length of train up the gradient4) if the layout is large enough to suit using more then one controller, for DC operation recommend the number of controllers, where to add insulated fishplates and where to connect the controllersAs track pans are often used by new modellers (which is also a core of the target market for TT:120) , each of these points can easily catch out the inexperienced
Fishmanoz
Good points Colin W, all relevant to the OO track plans. And in case anyone was thinking of scaling down OO plans, the geometries are different so it won’t work without considerable adjustment.
D9020 Nimbus
I think Hornby should produce such a book, but if they do they ought to get Paul Lunn to write it — he has done the last few Setrack plan books for Peco and they were a marked improvement on those that went before.
