evan-nz
This is my first post. I have only recently started using Hornby trains. I started with a iTraveller 6000 set. Shortly after I purchased a 2nd loco - HOR R30152 Hornby GBRf, Class 66, Co-Co, 66793 - Era 11. I have run the new class 66 loco on my track with the HM6000 controller. After running it for 2hrs over several days it suddenly stopped and shows no signs of life. It was pulling 4 passenger coaches and running fine and I seldom exceeded 70 on the controller speed. My other iTraveller loco works without issue on my track. Have I done something wrong or is it more likely I received a defective loco that needs to be returned? SteveM6
Give Hornby Customer Services a call. They will provide a returns number for a repair.
ntpntpntp
There is a phenomenon called "component infant mortality" whereby electronics (and indeed some mechanical bits) may fail very early on their life due to manufacturing faults. Strictly speaking your first contact should be the shop you bought it from, but as Steve says it's worth contacting Hornby Customer Services. Brew Man
Phone don't email, it's quicker. However, your user name suggests you may be in New Zealand, in which case phoning would be rather expensive.
evan-nz
Thanks for your helpful comments. I'll go back to the shop (in NZ) that sold it to me in the first instance.
