Just received my latest batch of 3D prints above is a replacement Oil Tank for the coal as fitted to the Churward 3500g tenders supplied with the Hornby GWR 28XX and 2884 2-8-0s.

Although I could have fitted it to 3803 I decided to go with one of my 28XX, however to avoid the need for a repaint I did a 3 way swap with the tender, 2811 supplying its GREAT WESTERN lettered tender to 2812 who swapped its shirt button tender with 3803 GWR lettered tender above.

All I need to do is renumber the loco, possibly 4811 if I can get the plates as this will mean only one digit needs changing on the buffer beam.

Can't even tell which parts are 3D printed and which aren't. So that's a job well done. If you hadn't posted that image of the Shapeways render above no one will know

Thanks JB and Atom for the complements. The use of the fine detail plastic gives a lovelly surface to work on albeit a bit expensive! However, the paint also go a long way. I used a brand new tin of Citadel Chaos black aerosol wgich seemes to give the nearest match in both "shade" of black and finish to that used on Hornby. I've also used it on the tender side of an Oxford Dean Goods and Hornby Jinty ans ex Dapol Castle smoke box doors to fully cover BR logos and number plates

Hi JMB,

Just had a look on a certain 3D printing site where I believe you have a page (and I certainly have) but couldn't find the above even though I think I found your page.

Regards

The models in question have now been re-uploaded. As I type this the re-done coaches are being uploaded. They should all be up in about 2 hours.

I currently have 5 locos, 1 wagon and 4 coaches up. These are all Indian Railway kits in HOe scale, therefore they are HO scale NG stuff. It's not the end and there's loads of stuff to do in NG followed by BG and lastly MG.

Progress with our Hornby Class 90.

The Class 90 remains to be our favorite British AC electric and Hornby as our favorite brand, so this project was a no brainer.

This is PART - 1 of our project and we hope you'll like what you'll see. The Hornby Class 90 is being detailed with a mix of etched brass parts (from P H Designs) and some 3D printed detailing parts (from our own range) to really improve the overall look of the model and bring it upto some modern standards.

PS: This is our very first time working with brass and 3D printed detailing parts. So please excuse any errors on our side. We all learn at some point and we're personally happy with what we've achieved so far.

Hi Jeremiah

One of my N gauge projects is Indian broad gauge - finding suitable models is of course a big challenge at the moment!

I admired your impressive 3D print of a WAP5 body (last year?) - are any of these available to buy, and do you have any similar Indian N gauge projects?

Regards, Jerry

Hey mate!

Yes I do have a few, though I have currently de-listed them to update them with better detail and accuracy. I'll get Adam (the admin of the Hornby Forums) to pass on my contact details.

At the moment I have a WAP-5 and WAP-7. Obviously I have plans to do many more, it's just a matter of getting a suitable chassis first. The WAP-5 and WAP-7 are currently in 1:150 scale, I am however looking to do a range in the more popular and more accurate 1:160 scale

Jerry,

If Jeremiah did have 3D printed products to sell, he is not allowed by forum rules to promote them on this forum. There is a forum ban on using the forum itself to sell & buy for personal gain. Plus there is no 'Private Messaging' function on this forum either, which would make getting in private contact with him rather difficult as it means getting the forum Administrator involved to act as a go between (note that personal member telephone numbers and email addresses that are posted in replies are removed on sight by forum Admin). Sorry for the inconvenience this causes you, but the forum guidelines about what you can and can't do are documented on the right hand side under 'Useful Links'.

Finally received one of my 3D prints from Shapeways. Overall the 3D printing quality is quite good. The only issue I had was that some detail parts like the horns broke off in the factory prior to packaging and I am not missing a few details.

Anyway here are a few images of the model in it's primer coat.

My ZDM-4A has entered the paint booth. It's still being worked on. I'm currently lining the model and adding details.

Tim Shaw, a wonderful chap with whom I've been working with for the last couple of years to design and build some Indian Railway MG kits in 1:76 scale has dropped off a bucket load of pictures today.

So for your viewing pleasure....I hope you guys like my 3D modelling skills and Tim's building, painting and weathering skills.

Hi JerimiaBunyan

That is different and interesting I assume you have some suitable line side very Indian looking accessories in the planning as well,

Like the circular platform seats with an umbrella like canopy over them.

Not to mention a suitably impressive layout to run them on.

Purely very selfish question I don't suppose any 2' gauge is in the planning. like the two foot version of the brake van.

regards John

Hello John,

Yes I have an entire range of Indian Railway related accessories in the pipeline. Personally I've never seen those circular benches with the umbrella in my 23 years...However I do have the standard design of Indian Railway platform benches. My personal preference is actually box profile/dioramas more than layouts as I can model multiple locations.

If you scroll back you'll also see some of my NG models i.e. 2' and 2'6" stuff.

My rolling plan is as follows and came into effect since June this year (all in 1:87)...

- Indian Railway NG (the range of kits is almost complete infact) for use on 9mm gauge track (HOe)

- Indian Railway MG for use on 12mm track (we coined the term HOmg)

- Indian Railway BG for use on 16.5/18.83 mm track (HO/HObg)

I've already covered 4 NG coaches, 2 NG wagons, 7 NG locos.... 4 more coaches and 3 more wagons yet to be done.

Ask Adam for my email and we can have a better and less restricted conversation offline.

HTH?

Regards,

JeremiahBunyan
