Airfix - What's your Latest Acquisition?

Recommended Posts

Unfortunately, I was seriously ill last year and as it was my birthday this week I thought that I would treat myself

I saw this in Airfix Model World and it looked like fun:

I saw the 1:72 version of this in AMW, and it also looked like it would be interesting.  I have never built a Tamiya kit before:

And finally...This is the 'treat' bit.  While undergoing treatment I built the Bandai 1:144 AT-AT and it was super.  It was so well engineered that it did not need glue.  I underestimated how big this was.  The 1:72 Typhoon is there for scale./media/tinymce_upload/7f735de08570c444d8fb84163d8280e5.JPG

I have plenty in my stash to build so apart from paints or PE etc that I might need for a particular kit I'm trying not to add to the delivery network during this difficult time, however I couldn't resist this next purchase

The kit I couldn't resist was a Mosquito B Mk.IV, the images must have got lost in the ether when I uploaded the post.

I also purchased a cockpit PE set, a resin bomb bay set and canopy mask set for the Mossie. The final addition was a PE seatbelt set for my current DHC-2 Beaver build.

HI

well ive just finished my second Aston Martin DBR9 this time in green as a 2005 Le mans entry, whikle im waiting for the new tool Vulcan my latest buys were an Eduard 1/48 Fokker Triplane ( 1/72 far to fiddly). and a NuNu 1/24 BMW GT3 M6 with detail up kit, i would like to see more competition cars from Airfix but i have found that 1/32 does not quite offer the level of detail i'm after.

  • 2 weeks later...

I've been trying to get enthusiastic about building models again after some recent setbacks that sort of got in the way. I made a bit of a mess of a Hunting Percival Jet Provost T3 that's still sitting on my workbench (along with my unfinished Swordfish that I don't want to stuff up). Although I have plenty of kits in my stash I bought these three on that on-line auction site. Interestingly, they represent a span of 30 years of Airfix (although the tooling is probably much more than that.
