You know that thing where you type out a clever passage of text, but get distracted before you submit it to the forum, and when you come back the site has crashed and lost all your work? Yeah, that.

So, 2022 is turning out to be a year of filling in odd nooks and crannies in my seemingly never ending 1940 obsession.

I hadn’t had the Heyford on my radar, only recently realising that several were still operational in a training role in 1940. I came to the conclusion the finite number of unbuilt kits in the wild meant I should seek one as soon as possible. As it happened, a fellow member of another modelling forum offered me his for next to nothing. It will now patiently wait its turn.

Other gaps in my collection include Axis trainers, so this smart little Stosser arrived.

Finally, today, I was delivered of a DH Flamingo. Thank you Valom for making kits of obscure planes!

As I type, Special Hobby announced a 1/72nd Fairey Albacore, and Azur have the Fairey Battle covered. My cup indeed runneth over!

I built the three versions of the Heyford some years ago, (okay, maybe twenty five) and they still look good. While I'm currently building my 66th 1/35 German afv in a row, I have a couple of Bristol Bombays and a few others from the Valom 1930s range, (HP Harrow, Sparrow et al), together with the Flamingos bigger sister, the DH Albatross, which is a stunning kit. Now, if only there were a 1/72 injection kit of the HP 42 Heracles, and of course an Avro Lincoln, I'd be a happy bunny.

PS; I don't have the Flamingo yet, how good is it?

More kits of all types, including a 1/35 BRM-1 with mine roller, a different E-100 by Trumpeter, (with night sight version) the E-75 anti-aircraft gun by Trumpeter, a Revell 1/72 Sea Vixen, (new version, lush) the Star Wars 1/72 Mandalorian Razor Crest and a Very Fire 1/350 Montana class battleship, which looks incredible, dwarfing even the Iowa class. Just finishing the latest eight afvs and then onto the next half dozen to a dozen kits. Yet again running out of Humbrol 93 :)

Looking forward to this challenge, and it is from the start as in the painting requirements. I was head scratching to the 101 reference it's a green. After searching the instructions over and over again, eventually finding it to be used in a mix with white for the interior. Which I know is an off white colour ( ivory ). This should be 103 cream, so not also a typo in the instructions but also on the box art.
