altyboy
With all the discussion on prices for the latest releases a good source for bargains is always the second hand stalls run by club - run model railway exhibitions. Usually this stall has amongst other things a range of stuff from the early Triang up to current Hornby - you never know what you might find! The other advantage it has is that it's only a couple of hundred yards from Manchester Piccadilly station.

late starter
I live only 5 miles away. I last went years ago & i understand its a pretty expensive entrance fee. Also i know someone who went last year, so well attended on a day of foul weather he couldnt get near many of the exhibits.Still, ill think about it! altyboy
I live about the same distance away as late starter and one of the advantages of this show is that it's in the centre of Manchester so you can get there easily by bus, train and tram and there's parking close by. And there's a decent cafe and decent restaurant that aren't expensive.
